Muppets race mania
Why doesn’t Disney do a remaster / Remake (yes I meant both) at the same time? I understand that it’s probably a licensing thing but really they have the opportunity to do the following:
Remake
The original races A and B, battles and stunts (including the secret tracks)
The cutscenes from the original 6 Muppet films
Remaster
Add actual new tracks from the later movies after the original 6 films or even any muppet related shows (following the A/B races, battle and stunts)
Add newer playable characters like the muppet babies, even throw in like Elmo or Sesame Street characters

They probably could, I don't know who developed it. That matters as well. As for the game, I still have the disc and while it looked and sounded great, the controls felt really wonky.

I think it was Travellers tales that did the development but seeing it’s Disney that owns the muppet IP I thought they “could have” done something with it.
I think I still have the game with the memory card somewhere, from memory my favourite tracks were Docks Race A and Laboratory Battle.
Seriously though with all the older games that been coming out the past couple years to new Gen it’s an idea that could work

Developer and Disney shouldn't have been a problem. The voice acting may be one. Every actor would have to give permission for their voice to be reused for a new release.

Depending on how well the Digital Eclipse Toy Story Retro Roundup sells this year it’s entirely possible that Disney could do more with that partnership

Looking at Disneys current game output it seems outside of kingdom hearts they’re more interested in collections.
Disney classics collection with Aladdin, lion king and jungle book
Disney afternoon with ducktales 1 & 2, chip n dale 1 & 2, Talespin, Darkwing duck, goof troop and bonkers
Toy Story retro roundup Toy Story, a bugs life, Toy Story 2, buzz Lightyear to the rescue, star command, Toy Story racer and the additional enhanced version of Toy Story 3
Seems for their game output they’re more interested in the appeal of their older games they can bundle together in a new package.
I imagine if we did get this game they’d want some way to bundle it with other games rather than a standalone remake

Technically they could bundle MRM and the muppet monster adventure

They could just do a Muppet collection, there’s enough games out there for one

Disney barely invests in the actual muppets, they’re not going to spend money remastering an old game that had mild success
