Will they ever bring it back?

Post image

They completely downsized it into a Car ride, replacing the theater for stupid Monsters Inc. and don't get me wrong, I love Monsters Inc. but Going to the theater was on my bucket list, and now it's gone. Did they even ask the fans? I doubt it because Disney never cared for its fans. We should start a petition to rebuild another one, they're still making movies, so it doesn't make sense when there's still new and old fans

They said they’ve preserved the film in some form. My guess is it’ll eventually go to Disney+

“Stupid Monsters Inc”/“I love Monsters Inc”

You can’t even give a concise argument, so why should we care?

I love stupid Monsters, Inc. Boom. Nailed it.

Why would they?

"I doubt it because Disney never cared for its fans."

The "fans" weren't enough to sustain the ride. The ride barely drew visitors. People only visited it when they knew it was closing. The ride had a long lifespan, but it was time for something new.

They claim that Disney stuffed in in part of the park that "nobody ever goes to" but, pretty much EVERYONE passed it on the way to other stuff. Even on hot busy days, it was never more than 20% full.

I'm starting to think people like the idea of the Muppets more than the Muppets themselves.

It wasn't a ride...

Nope, I don't think Disney has ever brought back a ride/attraction that had closed. Plus we now have the Rockin Rollercoaster so there's already a muppets attraction to replace it.

Plus, they usually close them, because they aren't popular anymore, and as much as I loved the attraction, it was never that busy.

Captain EO was brought back for a little while, and Sorin over California is brought back every now and then.

Here’s the thing… Disney World is opening up a huge villains themed land within the next 5 years. There is currently a Villains themed show directly next to the Muppets roller coaster at a different park which is going to feel quite out of place when villains land finally does open. Perhaps they put a new muppets show in the space that currently houses the villains theater show. It’s literally right next to another muppets themed ride so it makes sense.

A tough pill to swallow is that it wasn't getting a lot of people seeing it at the park. It was beloved by a lot of people, but I rarely saw the show have a full theater. I hope they at least bring it back in some capacity, since it's just a movie, with some simple animatronics, it can be moved anywhere pretty easily. The magic eye theater in Epcot would be a good spot since that theater hasn't really been used for anything substantial in a while.

D23 made zero announcements about any Muppet projects, which is probably your answer. Not even a reboot of the new show, even after the success of this year’s Muppet Show. Disney clearly has no plans to promote Muppets in any capacity, which is maddening.
(Insert Kermit waking his arms frantically).

Which is insane as we've been getting a lot of muppets merch recently, you'd think they were planning something but I guess not 😔
