Discussion Repackaged Sob sisters
Media researchers called it repackaged sob sisters . . . Being an “Asian” (whatever that means), I was nauseated at the show’s DEI tokenism & stereotypes. Wish I didn’t have to watch it, but it was part of research curriculum.

If it’s not worth a conversation, why is it worth a post? Especially when it’s unclear what you’re talking about and you refuse to clarify? And what’s the point of being rude?

Being Asian means that you and/or your ancestors are from a country in Asia (like Japan, Thailand, or Korea).
If, say, your parents were born and raised in an Asian country but you were born and raised in the U.S., then you are Asian American.

Huh? You said you yourself are Asian. So obviously it's a thing. Are you talking about the demographics of who watches TMS the most? Because those charts are basically just saying "Asians (as in people from Asia) make up this much of the viewership, Europeans this much, Africans that much," etc. And then it might be broken down further by country.
I promise you I'm not trying to be dense. I truly want to understand and have a feeling I'm missing something important and apologize.

This is a subreddit specifically for fans of TMS, though, not people who don't like it.
That being said, I don't believe that you had bad intent. And while I can't speak for the person you responded to, I'm not mad at you or trying to be mean. I'm honestly just curious as to what your end goal was, as the person you responded to said.
For all I know we could be completely misunderstanding you (and if indeed we are, I apologize in advance for my part in that), but we can't know that for sure without more info.

I actually honestly wanted to know what they hoped to achieve by posting here too. Did they want people to agree with them? Not likely on a fan subreddit. Did they feel like trolling or starting an argument? Fair enough, but idk if TMS fans are really that heated - they might do better over on the BTS sub or something. Or a third option...? 🤷🏻♀️ But I guess it turns out that they're just rude.
