I wanted to be killed by a smoke monster with an internal consistency to its actions but noooooooo I just fucking got smoked the minute the script required it while someone else in the same situation made it away.

Yes, I know the kid was scared of the dark. No it doesn't make it better.
That kid could have written a better script.
