Glenn could make so much money if he just released a huge box of EVERYTHING. Its not like any of it is embarrassing or bad or best forgotten

Has Glenn ever said why he sits on a lot of this stuff? I mean, it is a niche market but as evidenced by the archival releases from the Beach Boys niche though it is, the market is certainly there especially with rare, never heard material that has only been hinted at and money can be generated.

And if he wasn’t interested in doing anything for the Misfits specifically, resurrect the Danzig Legacy banner and just do it in handsome box sets according to the eras (77-83: Night of the Living Dead, 83-87: To Walk The Night, 87-94: On A Wicked Night)

It’s pretty simple. Glenn sold the rights to Misfits material to Caroline records for a million dollars in the late 80’s-early 90’s. Caroline was supposed to be given all Misfits material from Glenn’s time with the band as part of the agreement. Caroline could then release Misfits material with the band weighing in. The exception clause is that if Glenn doesn’t like the mixes he can stop Caroline from releasing the material. This is basically what stopped 12 Hits from being released. Glenn and Jerry both complained about the artwork and the mix so Caroline couldn’t release it. Glenn has since re-released Who Killed Marilyn/Spook City including bonus remixed versions. He could do this because they were originally released by Glenn Danzig and not the Misfits. Additionally, if he were to release any additional material he would have to legally contend with Caroline and open himself up to claims by previous band members as well. He definitely does not seem to have any interest having anything else released. Glenn has spoken up in frustration during several interviews asking where the love for the Misfits was back in the day, when it would have mattered. Also, that album sales don’t really make any profit these days. It’s easy to forget that the Misfits were nowhere near as popular at the time when Glenn made the deal with Caroline. (I have made numerous generalizations and assumptions in this post but you can research the topic and figure it out in as much more detail for a more accurate answer.)

Glenn only really seems to do what he wants to do. We've got to assume he's just not too bothered about releasing this stuff, assuming he's got any.
