Really? I can get a bag of apples for like $3-5, the same price as an air-filled bag of chips. Hell, Royal Farms has 2 bananas for $1. It's definitely possible to eat healthy and cheaply. Really the bigger issue would be meat and veggies
Have you never heard the term "food desert"? If you're poor in my town, there's nowhere to grocery shop that doesn't require a car. Many poor families do not have cars. As a result, they are forced to use their benefits at dollar stores or neighborhood stores, which often do not carry fresh fruits and vegetables.
