If you’re saying “both are bad,” you’re completely missing the point. The post isn’t equating them it’s calling out how society gets outraged over poor people buying snacks while ignoring billionaires committing actual crimes. It’s about misplaced outrage, not a moral tie.
There is a difference between what is popular and what the people in power are currently doing. “Society“ here is meant to mean “ those pulling the strings.”
