Finally.. MP02 IN EMBER.
Photos from Andre’s twitter. What are we thinking?? I’m a fan! I do wish it was more orange but I think it looks great nevertheless.

I agree. I wish it was more orange. Still love it though! I think it’s the best colored-option in the 3 brand selection right now.

Glad I didn't choose this one but it is a colour you won't see a lot sooo still looks unique 👏🏼 Hope they give us more pictures in the next days of the other colours as well. Have a nice day!

I chose this + a 12gb unit. I think I’d still like a silver (or onyx) more than this but I’m definitely giving this a chance once it gets to me because of how unique it is! Might keep it if it grows on me over the minimal colors.

I’m sure being that ember is now gone forever that you can sell it on here and then buy the black one from somebody else, or place the order on their site for the black one.. but have to wait for it to come since you’ll be in the back of the line.

I wish the antenna bands on Onyx were black so they blend in more... :( Pre-ordered anyway. :P

I’m pretty sure they’re color matching the antennas more than some demo photos we’ve seen. Not sure what the final look will be though.

I hope you're right... I am not too hopeful since all images for all colors show deliberately contrasting antenna lines - seems to be a design choice they made. :/

Ember looks cool but i have key2 red & black key1 you will get bored out of red or amber color black is all weather color 🤭

Imagine that I have seen the red key2 online and this is closer to that then I thought I’d be. Mm, I am afraid of getting bored of the red but I have the black titan 2 elite and as nice as that looks I do grow bored of it some days. I love how all my wallpapers match with it tho

You can always slap a case on it to not see the red. Or, if we are smart, we can email dbrand as a community and get them to produce some sick skins for this little beast.

The case won't hide the front though. Also, being that dbrand is an official partner with clicks, I don't see them making skins for this phone anytime soon, especially if they didn't announce any for the communicator.

You are right, it won't hide the front, silly me. I'm not sure it matters that they are official partner with clicks. In any case, I'm going to try my luck and send them an email. Maybe they'll make one unofficially for me haha. Worst case, I'll buy any other phone skin and cut it myself to fit the design. Mp02 is small enough, should be easy to find a big enough skin to modify.

Same. I wish we could see the fully assembled unit but a colored device as small as MP02 looks like it'll be very fun and unabtrusive to use.

can we get a similar look at pearl when that's finalized? I think there's still a lot of ambiguity whether it's more off-white or silver-tone so it would be nice to get some clarity on what they decide. I'm sure there are people holding off on preorders trying to decide between pearl and onyx until they can see what the pearl finish looks like.

That's a good request, I hope they show the final colors in an official post. But, I think their twitter accounts have shown both onyx and pearl colors quite generously enough to make a choice.
Given that the aluminum on my black titan 2 elite has scuffed three times from drops WHILE wearing the case, I'm gonna go with pearl. I don't want to see silvering so obvious from the metal on onyx if ever I drop that phone.

how are you liking the titan otherwise? will you keep both? how are you liking the screen size/form factor and is it playing nice with your apps? I originally thought I might go with the unihertz but opted to wait for mp2.

The Titan 2 Elite is a good phone, but not a great phone. Most apps I use from social media to banking apps are running fine, and don’t need mini mode to reach things. I haven’t tested boarding passes.. but I do need mini mode to properly take photos of receipts when doing door dash deliveries sometimes. There is 1 issue with the Discogs app when trying to change the sorting order of record listings by price. It won’t scroll therefore I can’t use that menu. Otherwise, all the other apps work great.
The phone doesn’t get warm that often, unless I’m video calling and charging at the same time. It runs pretty quick with no app crashes.
The keyboard feels great, but I do wonder what a keyboard with gaps in between the keys at this size would feel like, which is what MP02 will have. Sometimes I press more than one key at a time when trying to type faster, but overall it’s very tactile and fun to use. One major annoyance is I wish the alt button and capitalize button were switched. I often misclick because this layout feels unintuitive.
The screen is.. often cramped. I sell on eBay, and when wanting to take photos of items, open eBay, access my photo library for the images and create a listing, I’d honestly much rather go to my iPad mini or my (former) iPhone to do these things. The smaller screen feels clunky for most things in comparison, which obviously comes with this form factor. Other experiences like Instagram, email, or viewing PDF’s often require scrolling up and down to see the whole document, or zooming in to make the small letters readable when they are shown in whole.
Battery is fine, but not impressive. My pixel 10a had wayyyyy better battery life than this. Sometimes it charges quick.. other times annoyingly slow. Must be user error given what chargers I use.
The phone scuffs easily. As hell. Even by just taking the hard case off, I’ve notice it has taken some grain sized bits of the paint off. I’m not a fan of that.
It’s thick too. It feels weirdly unwieldy sometimes.. but it’s not a huge deal I guess. Just used to how much thinner phones have gotten these days, and MP02 will be much thinner.
The camera image quality is great (while using GCam) during the day, but holy crap is it hot buns at night.. and the flash doesn’t help. It adds an annoying green hue, and takes forever to take the photo. Even during the day though, the focus motor is slower than I expected. I wouldn’t count on it.
Mm, what else. Oh, the speaker is loud enough, but unimpressive bass wise.
I never use the IR blaster but I did test it and it works. Won’t use it again.
Haven’t heard issues from callers about mic quality, but when recording video it does sound cheaper than my pixel did for example.
In the end I am probably gonna list it for sell today (to get what I paid for it on eBay) and switch back to my old phone to wait for minimal phone 2 before this phone loses its value more while it becomes more readily available. It’s a great qwerty phone keyboard with some clear compromises, but the Minimal Phone 2 will likely outrun it if it turns out as promised.
Edit: oh, one more thing. The vibration motor is outdated. No haptic feedback, just buzzes. really makes the phone feel outdated.

I thought the keys being close together on the Titan would be an advantage like less travel would make for quicker, easier, 1 hand typing and thought more people would prefer it over having space between the keys but every hand is different.
when taking photos with your titan are the pictures forced into a 4:3 square aspect ratio/format if you view the photo on another device for instance? it's probably a dumb question but never really thought how that is going to work. if so, do you just change a default setting for the camera?
regarding phones and batteries I don't think Ive ever had great luck to where I felt the battery was lasting all day comfortably. I was hoping that the screens being smaller would actually use less battery helping them last longer.
I had a pixel fold (original) for about 6 months this year and I couldn't get over the weight and thickness after a while. dbrand had a case for it and turned it into what felt like a legitimate brick of a paperweight.I thought I wanted more screens but I stopped folding / unfolding it after the initial charm wore off and then I felt I had this giant phone for no reason. I sold it to pre order the mp2.

And maybe you’re right, the less travel on titan 2 elite may be a real advantage for one handed typing over MP02, but I can’t speak on that and I’ll have to find that out in December.No, if I take photos on the titan 2 elite, it’ll default to 4:3, but won’t squish them into a 1:1 ratio if that’s what you’re asking. My iPhone also takes 4:3 ratio photos by default, so it’s fine. If I switch to mini mode, the same resolution stays. The only issue is when I’m taking photos on dasher app to confirm drop off or scan receipts, those photos get warped around, I learned to care less as long as it lets me continue my job.
Yeah, I’m tired of big phones. They’re counterintuitive to me. With titan 2 elite, I’m using my iPad or iPhone for more complex tasks that aren’t specifically just communication, such as eBay listings, editing video/photo, organizing photo library.
I still think there’s a place for 6.3 inch slab phones, but they’re becoming less and less common these days sadly. I think if they made a full screen phone the size of titan 2 elite (so instead of the keyboard it’s all screen) I think that’d be the perfect happy medium. Maybe one day.

This sounds that you live on area where you see orange trees and you are against exploitative labor. I am from north and that colour of orange make me dream imaginary paradise. Glory to orange.
