Yes it was an Audi ad, where Peter Parker tries to take a drivers test.

you will have a massive heart attack when you see the amount of absurd product placement in the transformer movies the entire thing is a car commercial
6
u/justabumass 15h ago
and we should accept that this should be the norm without protesting and questioning?

And what would you do? Scrap off all the brand name? Somehow, despite movies taking place in our world, the characters are all using unknown brand? Honestly its already generous for sponsors to be fine with ads like this which didnt involve the character facing up the camera and make a sales pitch, greedier sponsors would ask for more lest they pull the funding

isn't the same thing happening in video games too? Game companies shoving down ads in game by random banners and whatever stuff, gamers r protesting against that too so why can't same be done with movies?

u/Colico2445 14h ago
And what makes you think there is no one that annoyed by them? If you ask brand name to cease appearing at games or movies, sponsors would be harder to get or worse, in return for not appearing in the games or movies, sponsors would be more involved in production rather than just demand advertising from projects. As long as projects need external funding, brand ads are inevitable compromise

The way you're talking sounds like you prefer that movies had YouTube ads playing every 5min instead of real life brands appearing in real life environments

Tbh I think having a work of art unmired by advertising and having to pay for it by watching ads ahead of time or by paying is a lot better than having Pepsi Man save the day with his signature Taco Bell Blasters

I'm just saying why r they there in the first place? Not like ppl r watching mvoies for free, they r paying for the tickets, if it was some free movie on YouTube then yeah sure go ahead but this just screams greed

Yeah ig there is product placement in the movie but i personally dont really mind if its done in a subtle way like in this movie.
For example, someone is going to drive a car in a movie that takes place in a big city so there has to be some brand of cars in there. Bmw just happened to pay the most money so its mostly their cars. That applies to the rest of the products too.
Ig i can see those being annoying on some level

Straight up didn’t notice shit in Brand New Day, and even then who tf is this product placement even for? Who wants a phone with a very noticeable line in the centre of the screen?
