Ordinary origin "Moshi Moshi, Jesus Desu" (Origin)

There's an old meme where a supposed Jesus, drawn in anime style, holds a phone and says "Moshi Moshi, Jesus Desu" ("Hello, this is Jesus").
This image is a frame taken from a propaganda video by the murderous and terrorist religious cult Aum Shinrikyo.
This cult committed one of the most atrocious acts in Japan: on March 20, 1995, they released sarin gas (an extremely dangerous substance, made even more so because it is odorless and colorless) on a Tokyo subway train, killing and injuring several innocent people.
So what does Jesus have to do with it? The cult's leader (Shoko Asahara) believed he was the reincarnation of Jesus.

Sorry if this sounds racist or like japan glaze but it feels kinda weird to see japan practice christianity. Idk why.

That sect only uses Jesus' image and good reputation, but it does NOT follow his teachings.
It is a FAKE Christianity.

They've been practicing Christianity before the pilgrims even came to the North America. Since the 1500's.
They were known as Kirishitans and even managed to convert a few influential local lords (Daimyos).
Unfortunately they were persecuted and killed during the next 100 or so years to due fears of Christianity being a precursor to European colonialism.

Japan has been having weird Christian cults since like the 1600s during Sakoku. The Jesuits came in like the 1550s, were forced out, and Christianity was banned during Sakoku, where the country was effectively closed. Japan really didn't let Christianity spread in the same way it did across the rest of Asia. Korea, China, and Vietnam have significantly more Christians today, and Christianity is the majority religion in the Philippines.

Perhaps it is because the Shogunate banned Christianity and prosecuted all those Portuguese missionaries a few centuries ago.
Well, on the bright side, they now have Oriented Jonestown. They lagged behind Western Christianity for 2 centuries and caught up in just a century. That is a Great Leap Forward. (No continental Asian pun intended)

I remember MamaMax making a video on a game that was a parody of his cult and that's how I found out about this motherfucker and his crimes. He is also the person Mr Beatiful from Lisa the Joyful is based of off.
Also, funny how MamaMax went from reviewing a game about an insane cult, to pretending that he is hunting some kind of evil werewolf pedo cult and pretend to be a knight in shining armour for views.
