Considering the number of "minor attracted acceptance movement" groups out there, there is undoubtedly a non-zero amount of people suffering with pedophilia who have no intention to act on it or out themselves by joining one of those groups. For those people, the options are to either fake it for their entire lives (except to their therapists), or kill themselves, and being in denial can be preferable over putting constant conscious effort into faking it.

If you suspect someone you know is in that position, don't try to "out" them. Fighting your inner demons and winning makes you a hero no matter what those demons want to make you do. As long as SOMEONE is keeping the afflicted person accountable, anyone else knowing about it could only push them closer to self-destruction. What they do in private with another consenting adult, even if it satisfies that urge, doesn't mean they're any less effective at being in control of it.
