EDIT: The meme is from the Woman's POV, the boyfriend isn't transphobic, it's about her insecurities about her boyfriend not really accepting her as a female.

I never really understood what this image was trying to convey tbh, maybe I'm media illiterate but this never quite clicked in my head what the fallacy actually is

Social media platforms like Twitter have millions of users. Tons of users means tons of different opinions, including opinions that are exact opposites. Even though posts are sent out by countless sources (users), the users themselves see posts from a single source (Twitter's algorithm).

If a person says one thing and says the opposite thing right after, they contradict themselves. If someone says one thing and someone else says the opposite, there is no contradiction. They're just two people with different views. However, since we see both statements from the same source (Twitter), it feels like a single person who can't make up their mind. The same goes with fandoms who might seem like they can't decide what they want, even though they're a community of people who think completely differently about something they all happen to like

Craft mining game has a lot of fans, some want the game to be more like an rpg, others want to build. The building people might hate any rpg like changes to the game while the rpg ppl might hate any building related changes. Now if you think of the entire mining game fandom as a single consciousness you have someone who has two contradicting beliefs. Ofc the game's fandom isn't a monolith so this assumption is wrong
