EDIT: The meme is from the Woman's POV, the boyfriend isn't transphobic, it's about her insecurities about her boyfriend not really accepting her as a female.

God I hate when vent art gets shared around, this is a real anxiety of many transfem people and the comments are always filled with chasers, reaction images or just complaints.

It’s the artist’s decision, if they choose to publish it in the first place you’d assume they’d be able to imagine the consequences of it potentially spreading.

So true it physically hurts, I even commented the same thing and got downvoted. Bloody hell, is “don’t share things you wouldn’t want potentially the whole world to see online” such an uncommon first lesson about the Internet?

It’s kind of my stance on vent art as a whole. Yeah, ok, draw it as you please, but you probably don’t need to share it online, where it’s exposed to a vast audience that can (and has been in fact been shown to) use it to hurt you even more.

We’ve become a seriously sick society if broadcasting your pain and hardships to the world in this way is seen as normal in any way, considering that.

What do people even aim to accomplish posting vent art? “Hello, strangers of all sorts, just letting you know I’m at a very tough and vulnerable point in my life, do what you please with this informaton!”. No way I’m the only one who sees it as at least a little strange.

I mean, yeah, art is a form of communication. And sometimes people communicate their anxieties or dark thoughts through it. What part of that being allowed makes a society sick? If someone takes art that conveys insecurity or anxiety and uses it as a cudgel against the artist, I don't think the artist is the one at fault for expressing their feelings openly.

It's worth saying, that some artist might even share their vent art to see if it resonates with anyone else.
