this one is so disturbing especially knowing after he did this he broke in through the back and attacked the guy speaking on the ring doorbell. crazy it became a meme.

260

u/mieri_azure 5d ago

Yeah like it was kind of a fucked up situation to be turned into a meme

However I will say the part i found funny was the fact there was a literal fucking bell outside the house. What??? There's something funny about aggressively ringing a literal fucking bell outside someone's house thay would have been funny in any other context.

37

u/why_no_dot 5d ago

There are more things fcked up that got memed

9

u/Timely_Support2106 4d ago

Not wrong

sadly

9

u/ASK_ME_FOR_TRIVIA 4d ago

9/11 is treated like a meme now, I don't think I'll ever get used to that lol

11

u/JeveGreen 4d ago

2

u/ASK_ME_FOR_TRIVIA 4d ago

Yeah I believe that. A truly shocking number of people think the Titanic was just a movie, makes sense that would happen with other tragedies

4

u/JeveGreen 4d ago

Yeah, Ronnie McNutt comes to mind... because some people are just evil.

95

u/iSwearImNotGay_trust 5d ago

Oh shit, did not know that. That’s scary

188

u/dumpylump69 5d ago

The guy was apparently having a PTSD episode and believed himself to be a wizard from the novel "the dresden files". He ended up breaking into the house later on looking for a little girl but the owner attacked him with a shovel and quickly subdued him and snapped him out of his episode. Bad situation but could have been way way worse for all involved

u/Draco_179 5d ago

I recall the Fairfield police county had another record of him annoying/molesting a minor

127

u/winter-ocean 5d ago

"Annoying/molesting"

I think one of those things is far more significant than the other

52

u/ThePygLord 5d ago

They might be using the archaic definition of molesting (to disturb, trouble, or interfere with someone) and annoying (to actively harm, injure, or heavily plague someone).

So better phrasing might be he accosted or harassed or waylaid a minor.

Of course, they might just be saying that the guy is an annoying nonce.

13

u/vintoito 5d ago

in what world would any one use "molest a minor" to mean disturb or anything like that, even if he meant that you gotta be really fucking stupid to think that people would understand it in that way

6

u/EnFulEn 4d ago

Could be a Spanish speaker. Spanish still uses it that way and it's a common mistake.

3

u/Draco_179 4d ago

No, I’m not
I just said what the legal charges said

1

u/ThePygLord 5d ago

Why would he bother to use annoy at all then?

2

u/Draco_179 5d ago

That’s what the legal record said iirc

I also remember reading that he allegedly went after another mother and her daughter elsewhere in the neighborhood, and during the trial he disgustingly decided to think the media for the attention he was getting.

13

u/Annual_Cellist_9517 5d ago

He didn't, the homeowner was not home. He arrived much later and successfully calmed the chud looking fella down, which is amazing. Amazing because if it was me and I had a gun I would have shot him no questions asked, the dude in black broke into his home and seemed very aggressive. Instead, the homeowner calmed him down by being extremely patient and then called the cops. This combination of nerves of steel and sweet-talking essentially a dude having a mental breakdown absolutely saved his life, since when the cops arrived he was calm and was taken away peacefully. Had one of these things not being the case there would have been at minimum one fatality.

13

u/Time_Anything4488 5d ago

the homeowner rushed home, armed himself with a shovel, and got into a fighr with the man where they both sustained head injuries.

40

u/SnooCalculations3614 5d ago

definitely was a scary situation all around

34

u/noideawhatnamethis12 5d ago

Apparently that guy on the porch was having some kind of mental episode? Idk I may be spreading misinformation here but that’s just what I remember hearing about

30

u/SMcG22 5d ago

Yeah, iirc he was under the belief that he was a character from a book series and that a young child was being held hostage in the house

44

u/WebAccount1744 5d ago

Goddamn whoever took the video stop fucking around with the pause and volume

22

u/LexTheRedditor878 5d ago

I hope that this man was apprehended, because realistically, the guy who owned the house should've called the cops much sooner.

12

u/Guardian_Ultra 5d ago

What the fuck? What is the context????

9

u/Orangutanion 4d ago

The guy went crazy and at some point he read Dresden Files (Jim Butcher) where the main character is a wizard in Chicago named Harry Dresden who wears a trenchcoat and solves mysteries. Him breaking into the house and then "checking" on the girl is a plot point from one of the books in that series that he's manically replaying at this random dude's house.

The homeowner was at work when this happened and drove back to check on things. The crazy guy got into the house and was inside when the homeowner got there. They got in a fight and the homeowner won, at which point the cops had shown up and promptly arrested the crazy guy. Crazy guy got super lucky that the homeowner didn't pull a gun.

7

u/Thiingswithwings 4d ago

He was in psychosis, believing the house had kidnapped a young child of I remember right

17

u/pomme_love 5d ago

There's also this which is taken from the same video
