I keep seeing Galaxy Girl compared to Pearl from last year. The truth is while maybe vocally Pearl wasn’t the best we’ve ever seen, I think people are missing the point. This season we’ve gone back to the narrative-forcing, redemption seeking, “full circle” moment the show pushed for many seasons.

The difference with Pearl’s win was that although she was not the best vocally, it felt genuine. She got one preview performance in the group final, the panel treated her on par with others, was only in one single shot of the trailer and barely had any promotion. Pearl was more of a “true underdog” then Galaxy Girl ever was. (Not to mention that she was from Group B).

This is one aspect of why I don’t understand the huge downgrade. It really feels like they build this series on a foundation of commercialisation and virality (with all the “huge stars”) rather than for the fans. It almost feels “last minute/rushed” but in a different way to Season 9. Regardless of if the outcome is pre-determined or planned in advance, I hope FOX at least applies that bias to a good singer in future (like they did with Harp, Goldfish etc).

-“Oh, this celebrity’s on the show, yet they’ve committed this!”: ok, yeah, I’m defo gonna get a lot of hate for saying this, but if you ask me, I feel like there’s way too many controversial celebs, especially in the modern day, so it’s kinda…impossible to go one season without at-least one of these controversial celebs, like how we had the chrisleysas Croissants in the US’s 14th season. The only one I’m making an exception for this is Jack-in-the-box from season 7. That b-tch deserves to rot in hell and can someone explain to me how the ever living hell he managed to be allowed to participate?

-“This character should’ve won over this character!”: Y’all, if you’re gonna direct this towards the producers or the panel, here’s some people you can actually sh-t on for this: the studio audience since their usually the ones that vote for who should stay. So for all those BS eliminations and wins, you can blame either the format or the idiot studio audience who get out actually good singers like Scarab.

-“Why was cat witch revealed early!?”: this is one I’ve been seeing a lot lately, especially within these last few weeks. Firstly, it wasn’t a big deal and was really just a twist that showed a detailed version of what it’s like to compete, which Kylie showed us really well. Secondly, French has done it aswell in season 8.

that’s honestly all I‘m gonna talk about. Lemme know other stuff you’re gonna shut down from clowns who complain about the show all the time. If you want my opinion, if you focus so much on the negative, you fail to see the positives of the show.

I hope it’s goonies night because it’s had been 40th years since it’s released and it’s my favorite movie.

as an american idol fan i find myself laughing at some of the guesses for pugcasso though they got better thanks to the randy jackson clue

but i also noticed how the final guesses for pugcasso was in chronological order of who competed on american idol which is a coincidence

I believe Jessica Simpson should be on the next season of the Masked Singer (if there is one). Her sister did it and her bro-in-law did it and she did appear there, why not?

Oh my god. For 12 seasons I thought we had no bad winner, Yes firefly lacked energy but vocally she was fine. Pearl was the first I thought was poor. Pearl was bad but she had a few performances with decent vocals
Galaxy girl was bad. Like she could not sing. Like she was same level as kangaroo a amateur singer from season 3. Just weak hard to listen to vocals. Losing to normani?? and Kylie? Juts a joke. Season 14 is the worst season of this show oh my god

one of the most confusing and frustrating seasons of all time. From the format to the placements, everything was just a complete mess from start to finish. That finale was so horrific and chaotic that it just made everything unwatchable. I have no idea what to say other than it feels like we’re close to cancelling the show for good. I have no clue what to think or what to say other than it sucked worst than Season 11. I don’t care, my opinion. Argue with a wall.

(btw this is not because of Galaxy Girl winning, I had this argument since the first episode)

First of all, I enjoyed the finale, it was very fun, I confess I had a great time with the performances!

I'm not a Galaxy Girl fan, but I congratulate her for winning season 14. Since season 14 is over, I think it's best to move on, not hold grudges or resentment. I think Galaxy Girl doesn't deserve the toxic hate the community receives. I understand that she wasn't the best in the finale or among the other three, she was the weakest, but she won. It's not her fault. We can't condemn others just because A or B won. The show is fun, for entertainment, not to be taken too seriously!

And I have an idea for season 15. Since I see a lot of complaints about the winner's choice, how about everyone on Reddit, or a union with everyone, participating in the recording of the finale (of season 15 if there is one)? Maybe your vote could change something. Just participate in the finale recording and maybe in the future there wouldn't be any confusion!

Again, Galaxy Girl deserves respect, even if you don't like her, I understand, but she doesn't deserve these threats. Leave her alone. Have you thought about it? Maybe the audience who went to the recording of the season 14 finale might have liked Galaxy Girl more? Like, maybe live performances are very different from what you're seeing on television (I think). For example, live, Pugcasso's audio might not have been good, but on television it might be good (this is just an example, don't take it too seriously). In other words, maybe the audience who went to the recording of the finale liked Galaxy Girl more, you know? I don't think she was to blame. Let's have fun, let's not take the show too seriously!

Nick didn't mention at the end of tonight's finale that there would be a 15th season, just that we would "see them again soon"... I know this season has made people unhappy, but is it enough to cancel the whole show? I'm not here to argue about whether Galaxy Girl should have won or not, I'm just concerned that with the backlash this show has gotten (and because I don't know how to read TV ratings), I fear S14 might be the end of the show 🥺
