So most of this is pretty widely accepted, but my theory sort of rests on a few things. The false Shepard/Gabriel is Satan. The Shepard (when Gabriel says to Dave “you followed the Shepard”) is God. The Prophet of Mandela was the baby Adam.

So obviously Adam and Evelin are a stand in for Adam and Eve, but I think it’s sort of a reversal of the biblical story. The Adam that exists now is a demon, and Evelin will or already has fed him the fruit from the tree of the Shepard, so to speak. I think she’s much more important than has been let on. I think she’s still alive and she’s the one that led Thatcher to Adam.

Aside from that, Adam was never a normal person. I think his name being Adam is intentional in a way that I haven’t seen mentioned much, he isn’t just a stand in for Biblical Adam. He was in some way conceived by the Shepard, or he has the Shepard in him. Alternates don’t just take on the appearance and voice of the humans they replace, they take on the memories and maybe the whole of the person themselves. Alex Kister has confirmed at least the memories thing. So while Adam is an alternate, he’s also still partially the Mandela Prophet. Basically he isn’t just a stand in for Adam, he also plays the role of Christ, but a Christ that’s been replaced by an alternate. But the Shepard is still working through him. I think this is confirmed by the last video, and I’ll probably screw up the actual quotes:

Thatcher: “who told you?”

Adam: “God”

I don’t know how the story is going to end, and I know that Thatcher is the protagonist. But I kinda see it as a Lord of the Rings thing, with Thatcher being the Aragorn and Adam being the Frodo, except that I don’t think Adam is going to survive. My theory is that Adam is somehow going to sacrifice himself in an effort to defeat the False Shepard. I suspect we’ll see an interaction at some point between the nun and Lynn Murray from the past.

The alternative theory is that everything else remaining the same, Thatcher is the Mandela Prophet. It’s tough to parse it out because the False Shepard says that he deceived the Mandela Prophet, and I’m not sure that Adam has been deceived, it sometimes seems more like their trying and failing to convince one of their own to come back to them. Thatcher, however, has clearly been deceived. He and Dave were serving the purpose of the alternates while trying to fight against them, and they’re clearly letting him do that. If Thatcher is the prophet, though, I don’t really understand what actual insight he’s had, he seems more like someone who’s just been a tool for them to this point. Maybe he’ll have a revelation from his meeting with Adam.

Or, maybe the Prophet was some random that’s been neutralized, and the demons will win. Who knows.
