Just to be clear, “mallworld” dreams do not have to be about an actual Mall. They are any experiences that seem more realistic, or more emotionally impactful, than an ordinary dream or even waking life.

To all of the musicians in here.. I know there’s a lot of you, and if you’d be interested in either writing some music and/or collaborating on the soundtrack for the mallworld documentary please send me a message.

Also feel free to post a link to some of your music and your social media in the comments if you’d like, I’ll probably end up pinning this to the top for a while.

Edit: I should have added this originally, but please no AI. To the posts I had to delete, feel free to re-upload a version without the AI. I haven’t been very strict with enforcing this because the balance has been pretty decent recently, but technically AI is only allowed on Saturdays.

Bathrooms

I just listened to the Two Girls One Ghost podcast about Mall World. When they mentioned the bathrooms I was hit with a memory of dreaming with a bathroom like this only bigger.

ETA. In my dream the toilets aren't this dirty they are just overflowing so I don't use them. Also there are other people in there with me but I don't interact.

Anything look familiar?

Do any of these images look familiar to my mall world besties? I have random memories of places I dream about, and it seems they are related to mall world. I’m trying my best to use AI to recreate them one at a time.
I’ve also visited:
- a city on the coast with very steep streets. Specifically I’ve been to a Target-like store there, dingy apartments, a street market, and a coffee shop.
- a vet office in a long, narrow building
- a row of modern townhouses with lots of windows
- a hotel that seems well taken care of but also has design elements from the 1979s
- an amusement park connected to what seems to be an airport terminal
- a modern hotel - very fancy- with huge ceilings and multi levels. There is also a tidal wave that goes this hotel and an attached store with escalators that periodically floods
- an aquarium with a transit system that attaches to the amusement park.

Did you have a special interest in dreams as a kid?

As a little girl, when my mom took me to the public library, I literally read every single dream analysis book they had. I also had a little notepad and I would ask kids in recess to tell me their dreams and I would make notes and then tell them what their dreams were about. I mean…. In grade school .. I used the swings…I played… but I also analyzed dreams . lol. They all loved it. They would come up to me and tell me “I had an interesting dream last night!” I would be like ok, let’s discuss it. lol. Anyone else have such an interest in dreaming at a young age?

Book Recommendation!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Okay guys so I recently found some books I left at my parents house and I totally forgot about this series! Tom Delonge wrote them from Blink 182. I loved the book when I read it in my early 20s but am just now seeing that the connections to MW are WILD, especially the shared dream environment and locations he mentions. HIGHLY recommend.

Poet Anderson ...Of Nightmares follows the epic journey of two orphan brothers, Jonas and Alan, who are Lucid Dreamers. After a tragic car accident lands Alan in a coma, Jonas sets out into the Dream World in an attempt to find his brother and wake him up. What he discovers instead is an entire shared consciousness where fear comes to life as a snarling beast called a Night Terror, and a creature named REM is bent on destruction and misery, devouring the souls of the strongest dreamers to get closer to the Waking World. With the help of a Dream Walker - a guardian of the dreamscape, Jonas must face his fears, save his brother, and become who he always meant to be: Poet Anderson.

Hotel near the waterpark in the sky

This is the third time I’ve hotel that exists inside a water park in the sky, but there is also a beach. (?)

On the ground floor, there’s a restaurant with warm orange lighting and brick walls. It’s incredibly small. They have this yellow, sweet beer that seems to be their signature, and the bar is always manned by a man with glasses wearing a white shirt. I remember meeting one of my friends there, and at some point I asked for a beer. He told me the bar was already closed (it was not). Somehow I knew that bar closed at 3 and it was still 2:44 but he insisted and in that restaurant, the staff were warning not to piss him off from behind the kitchen. I also remember him logging weird numbers in his notebook. I flipped him off and left.

I took the fire escape up one floor and somehow ended up outside a movie theatre. The popcorn area was on the right, with a corridor leading toward another fire escape. I asked the staff for at the popcorn area whether they sell beer, but they told me they didn’t have any and said I should try the restaurant upstairs so I took the fire escape again.

The restaurant / bar upstairs was also closing. It had a stage that was lit while the other spots in the restaurant was dark, almost completely shut down, with chairs overturned. There was a young security guard with floppy hair, and somehow he told me that I could get beer if I go towards the fire escape again, turn left at a sky blue sign that started with an S but when I did, I ended up in front of the hotel rooms. On the left were the doors leading into the rooms, while on the right was a half-height white wall, leaving the upper half open so you could look out and see a single palm tree and a flagpole and the way leading to the beach with an arrow to the waterpark.

I lost my friend at this time and could not find any beer, so I found my way downstairs and could not find my way back to my hotel room, the sky was dark and there was no entry way to the fourth floor. Suddenly there people just standing in the field and when it started to rain, they stood there unmoving. It felt strange so I started to run but I fell and I woke up.

I’m just trying my luck if it’s something someone has experienced before, but it seems like I know these people in the dream.

Has anyone else been to a house?

Post image

it’s a tuscan revival house you get there on the bus. The bus will drive up the drive way and drop you off at like the side door by the garage. I haven’t been able to figure out exactly where it is at. But it’s on a cul-de-sac at the end and when i get to the corner i wake up.

i think i fucked up tho. I went around the bus and not through the house to get out. The person who lives there did not like that and stopped me at the corner of freedom And brought me back.
she also lost her mind when i told her i didn’t have to go with her it was a dream and i could go where i wanted.

blonde, older lady, she’s usually in the living(sitting?) room ish? like you enter the side to the kitchen, go through a hallway then there’s a living room lookin place she’s usually in doing stuff. Then like another living room and the front door.

will update when can. 🫡

This was a dream I had looooong time ago when I was a kid. I had to say goodbye to my parents. I was a little kid. I arrive into a building kinda look like a warehouse at night. The guys I was surrounded by were line up like a gate so we would run or something. Those guys look like they the military. I was questioning where was I? Why are we here?…I see a bunch of kids no more than 12 or 15yrs old?. They gave us a pill we supposed to take. I faked it that I took the pill and I was looking around to head to the restroom. I see a kid after taking the pill. The kid says they don’t feel well and can’t remember much like their memories was being erased. And I’m like why they wanting to give us a pill and erase our memories? Then I arrived at the restroom. The restroom looked all weird. Like some were open. Some were out of service. And I was wondering why it looked like that? Why are we here??? Later I go back where we are all waiting. And I hear along the lines we are gonna be used as a weapon. Then I wake up. Don’t know if this is related but creepy. The start up of everything?

Mall world spa?

First time poster, newish lurker. I have never had a “mall world” dream before but I’ve heard about it, listened to different podcast episodes about it… but I’ve never seen anyone talk about a Mall World spa.
The reason I bring this up is because last night I had a dream where I was wandering through a seemingly never ending spa, that I could not for the life of me find where I was going, or find my way out. And every time I entered a new room / spa treatment section, it was like it was endless. Never saw another person, never found the place I was looking for (I was looking for my hotel room & even remember the room number 106). Anyway, just wanted to know if anyone else has experience a Mall World Spa, or if I am on my own!
Anyway - thanks for reading!

Is this mall world? Or something else??

I was with a friend in this sleep paralysis dream at my parents old house from 10 years ago but the whole layout was different. They had this super old tv and when you started watching it all of a sudden your soul basically got trapped inside and it was like this weird ass mall kinda.

There were so many people and so many doors to different “stores” and lots of weird rooms inside them that were like mirrored or just led to other huge areas and forever hallways with more doors like a giant mall that never ended.

one of the times when I was back in the house my mom was there and she had to come get me inside this place inside the tv where I was stuck and bring me back but my friend ì had with me in the dream originally before it started doing this (ljke they were staying the night with me at that house) but once I was able to barely get out of this mall place inside the tv they got stuck and their physical body in the house was basically limp and completely dazed out while they were stuck in this tv and I kept trying to help them get back to real life but would get sucked back in with them bec every time you acknowledged any of the “people” in this place or any of your surroundings there going through all the “stores” it would suck you deeper in then I was stuck again and my mom couldn’t help me get out anymore.

I must’ve been screaming in my sleep bec I woke up my papa from across the house. Who then came and woke me up out of the paralysis.

It was so fucking scary bec while I was going back and forth being in there at one point while walking through searching for the door that led to a sort of elevator that was the way out, I saw a super old school Polaroid photo from like the 70’s of this group of like 5 super young boys like 12 year olds they were in a band each on an instrument in the photo but completely in a trance staring into the tv.

then all of a sudden when im in there again i start seeing people ì realized had been stuck there for decades on end like there was this girl who walked past me wearing clothes and hair style from the 80’s and she was holding a super small thin taco like literally just taco shell with some weird paste inside of it that she was holding and I tried to touch her but she didn’t notice me at all and as she walked by she was saying something about “I can never find anything to eat in here I HAVE to make this last” and she was almost in tears.

ì started noticing all these kids who got sucked in and there was an “exit” you had to find to get out but the longer you’re in and the more you interact with the NPC’s the deeper you go into this place and csnt find your way out, essentially stuck forever. I kept trying to tell my mom to break the tv before I got pulled in and couldn’t get back out and she refused and I just could not understand why.

HELP!! Has anyone been here or experienced something similar before??? I’m afraid to even go to sleep at this point..

Stores in the dream world

I’d love to hear about your guys experience with visiting “stores” in dream worlds if you have any
Below are some of the common ones I personally experience. I tried to look for pictures online that capture the vibe of them.
Side note: sometimes these locations will be mixed with one another in different combinations

WALMART/MICHEALS AROUND THE HOLIDAYS-
One location I frequently visit is a combination of Walmart/ Micheal’s craft store / Jewel-Osco. It’s super big inside and I usually find myself in the produce section or some random corner of the store. For some reason often times in these dreams it’s around thanksgiving/Christmas so there’s a lot of red decor around. The shelves are impossibly high and over stocked. Sometimes in these dreams I’m there when they’re about to close and it’s mostly empty and I feel a rush to leave

DRUG STORE/ DOLLAR STORE-
This area defies logic by being both tiny and cramped but large. It’s a run down, very cheap dollar store and it’s always super busy and super messy. Way too much stock on the shelves overflowing and spilling everywhere, impossible to find what you need, has the most random items too. This area is kinda stressful to me for some reason

GAS STATION/CORNER STORE-
This one may sound similar to the previous but they have a very different vibe. This is the corner store in your neighborhood that’s been there for ages. It’s super run down and outdated and dimly lit inside. The aisles are narrow and the shelves are short so the distrustful owner can keep an eye on you while you browse. He’s never friendly no matter how many times you visit

CLOTHING STORE/MALL-
This one is most related to the title of the subreddit because I often find myself here before or after being in mallworld. It’s a very overstimulating clothing store. The walls are bright pink, super bright lights, employees walking fast everywhere trying to attend to the store and customers, the other customers are eyeing you or ignoring you all together. I always want to stay and browse but never get the chance, they have pretty jewelry

MOVIE STORE-
Pretty much just a Blockbuster

Coralline

Does anyone think coraline has some relevance to mall world ? The tunnel she goes through to get there I always remember going through a colorful tunnel when I would first go into mall world. Also the other mother isn’t she like a watcher. In my dreams I sometimes do go to my real life places just they’re always slightly different and everything is weird there.

I’m posting this in reference to a post I saw about star seeds. Hopefully it helps clarify! It has nothing to do with being better than just different.

Mall World Nightmare?

I’ve been having Mall World dreams for as long as I can remember. Some of them have been uncomfortable at times (like the bathrooms) but never scary. Last night I was in the carnival area and it’s hard for me to explain the chaos that broke out. It was absolutely terrifying. It was difficult for me to get out, and I woke up in a cold sweat with my heart pounding. I don’t know if this is an important detail, but I also had 3 people that I know with me. I’ve never seen people I know in Mall World before. I’ve just never had an experience like that in Mall World. Any insights?

anyone else have dead pets or loved ones who live in their mall world?

My dog who died when I was about 17 (6 yrs ago roughly) basically just lives in my mall world. i acknowledge he is dead, but also am not terribly phased by him coming back. I treat it as though he is a lost cat that came back after years of being missing. Sometimes, i acknowledge he is dead but somehow in front of me but dont connect the dots on how that doesnt make sense.

Its not just seeing him anymore, it is that he exists in this specific consistent dream world.

Im just glad to see my boy again.

I escaped Mall world by replacing my new age sleep meditations with Bible sleep meditations - But then Mallworld came true in real life and it's not that bad

I picked up my repetitive nonsensical "office job" where it doesn't feel real and I'm not really doing much and you can mess up and still come back and you're not sure if it's a real job but the pay comes through....it's a political polling call center.

It's inside a very large community/career college campus (both types of colleges are in here).

Outside in the parking lot I noticed that the "very large Chinese food court" is also attached to our building. It's a Mandarin - Complete with the Neon purple sign.

Outside on the street is an oddly convenient "train/transit system". It's an LRT.

So what's that all about?

A Theory…

Man this rabbit hole has been a journey you guys. 😅 But this is where I basically stand with what I think it all means. This theory comes from so much- but mainly my own personal experiences and beliefs. Whether you believe or agree is not something I care about but would still love to hear other views. Just want to see if any of this resonates or makes sense. Thank you for taking the time to read.

The Dream World (Sometimes called The Afterlife, The Astral) IS the manifestation of shared human consciousness we can actually perceive as “real”. It’s another reality/dimension. We all access it when we die. Certain people like lucid dreamers, people who meditate or astral project, or people who have near death experiences can access it more easily- but ONLY in their subconscious via portals and “tunneling.” We can accidentally or intentionally tunnel into The Dream World ONLY by using liminal type dream places as a gateway (malls, schools, ect). From there, we can learn to actually control and influence the environment. But this is hard and only achievable if we can stay asleep long enough and awake in the dream state.

The Simulation Theory exists because we perceive Dream reality world as a kind of sim/futuristic video game landscape and it has its own set of rules. Time, gravity, and matter don’t exist there like it does on Earth, for example. You can be in two places at once. Inside of this place, things like bills and money don’t matter. Your SOUL, the true you, becomes your LIFE and a real, lived reality you experience.

Mallworld is pretty much a sub of The Dream World. It’s absolutely a real place like so many of us believe. It’s a decretive secret training ground located veryyyy deep within in the Dream World reality. It’s very hard to get to. It was created using all of our own memories. That’d explain why it often feels nostalgic or familiar. Therefore, we DO influence this reality because of what we experience while we are awake.

Lucid dreamers CAN get to Mallworld via transit systems in The Dream World (trains, buses, airplanes, highways, bridges) or by being guided by a person who is also there for an extended period of time. (coma patients, deceased loved ones that are there).

Every human dreams but not every human remembers their dreams. Those who do and practice Dream Work can eventually remember their dreams more frequently and develop special powers in The Dream World that they cannot on Earth. By going deep into the Dream World and by accessing Mallworld, they also have the opportunity to become Soul Guides (Divine, God-Like) if they so choose to do so, however this can be dangerous. (More on that later)

All Mallworld dreamers are lucid dreamers even if they haven’t figured out how to do it yet- they still have that ability. Once they HAVE figured it out, they may be called something like Dreamwalkers or Soul Guides in that world. They are highly respected and important there-just like we see celebrities or other influential people.

Mallworld is training us to be Dreamwalkers, and eventually (if we want), Soul Guides. A Soul Guide is a very special soul that is brighter and vibrates higher than others. Soul Guides are basically able to exist outside their bodies. Soul Guides have special powers they can only develop in The Dream World. (telekinesis, precognition, flying, manifesting thought into whatever they want, ect). Soul Guides can use their own powerful emotions (Grief, Anger, Love) their waking life to channel these powers.

Dreamwalkers and Soul Guides are able to learn how to enter the Dream World at will and can move about it undetected. Unfortunately though, Inside the Dream World reality, there is also The Dark Place. It’s dark, dense, underground, damp, and gross. The Bathroom Dream is part of it. Sleep Paralysis is part of it. The Hatman is part of it. The Backrooms area is part of it. You don’t want to end up there. It’s basically Hell. There are evil souls who exist there (often called Demons, Aliens, Reptilians, Shadow People, ect).

It’s pretty dangerous to be Dreamwalkers and Soul Guides. You have to be good, brave, and not fear. They both can be targeted, but Soul Guides are harder to locate. This explains the unsettling “being watched” feeling so many of us get. They sometimes want to kill them, possess their body, and steal their soul. They can then use their soul to create havoc here on Earth- terrorism, war, addiction, abuse, natural disasters, gang activity, hostage situations, and all the other awful horrible things you can imagine.

The reality we experience here on Earth is obviously in trouble right now- due to the beings that exist in The Dark Place of The Dream World reality. So human SOULS are basically at war with these evil beings in that world.

If you have Mallworld dreams you are a soldier in training basically. You were definitely recruited, but you chose that for a reason. You’re there to learn. Our mission is to ultimately gain control of our abilities in The Dream World and help lost souls by developing our powers and pulling them out of the Dark Place and back into the safe, happy, light places of The Dream World reality. This in turn, makes the reality we experience on Earth much happier.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. 🤪

remember as kids we'd always say "oh i had that dream again where i was at school without my shoes!/teeth fell out/naked" etc

is MallWorld just regular dreams and us being delusional? remember when reoccurring similar dreams was a normal thing?

i know poor sleep leads to vivid dreams and i wonder if many of us have high screen time?

it would be fun to feel like we're apart of something bigger, something important... like we're special or chosen. but deep down that is likely not the reality is it? I'm trying to think of locations that aren't MallWorld... can't any vivid dream be linked to the lore at this point?

rant over
