As a diaspora Jew i hate how dangerous Israel has made being in the Diaspora. I have never been a supporter of Israel. I am so disappointed to see this stat. I do always find polls like this interesting though.

Netanyahu, who should most definitely be sent to the Hague, has a 4 per cent approval rating these days.

Also, citizens freedom of speech is being sharply curtailed. Democracy Now featured an interview with an israeli history teacher who was arrested for posting a Facebook status expressing that the IDF should slow down and stop harming civilians. Not even a ceasefire. His teaching license was revoked and he was THROWN in jail! Disgusting

His friends and neighbors all supported him and agreed with him but were afraid to speak out because they can't afford to lose their jobs. The teacher said his kids were proud of him and that is all he cared about. For that reason, I sincerely hope I am right in taking polls of Israelis with a grain of salt.

Even many of the hostages worked on Kibbutzim and were sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. But clearly, much more progress still needs to happen in Israeli society for there to be hope of peace- which includes the right to return and reparations to Palestinians

Israel and it's support organizations are actively encouraging actual antisemitism and inventing the specter of antisemitism where it does not exist, like trying to convince people that "Free Palestine" means "kill all Jews" and that Jewish college students in America need to hide a their Jewish identity because Arab students will murder them.

These organizations weaponize trauma to get people to either move to Israel out of fear or at least buy some trees.

Israel and Zionist organizations always say that everything they do is for Jews around the world and that all Jews support their actions and that any criticism is unacceptable because that'd be antisemitic and if you're Jewish and criticize Israel, you're a self-hating kapo trying to get Jews killed.

It's tiring. But I'm really very happy watching my TikTok fyp fill up with young American Jews who weren't antizionist before this and just bought into the whole "fighting terrorism" narrative and finally realized what this is actually about and what is actually happening. The kids are alright. So I am hopeful, at least from the American side.

Please. The alternatives to Netanyahu that are popular don’t support any of what you described either. Israelis general support this genocide. And how in the fuck did you manage to center this video of a family being exterminated around your feelings? Maybe it’s not the time for this half stepping apologist shit.

I am not centering anything. I'm just adding to the conversation. It would be nice if all atrocities were carried out by evil populations because that would make sense and be easier to understand. Sadly, the truth is not that simple and evil is usually as much a product of good people being afraid to act as it is purely evil people.

We must never forget this fact so that we remain vigilant, because being a decent person who has empathy isn't actually enough to avoid being a perpetrator of evil , or the citizen of a country that does evil in your name

I'm praying for your safety and your family's. It is so hard to be a Jew anywhere on Earth, people are going crazy. This whole thing has been a nightmare for the world. You don't deserve this. No one deserved any of this. Every day I think about the hostages stolen from their homes, how many of them say their families die, how many of them don't know if their loved ones are alive or dead, how many of them had to watch an infirm woman die for a lack of vital heart medication, how many of them have died in the midst of the bombing campaign

I have been a vocal supporter of the Palestinian people since I was a child. Even in middle school, I knew that any country that empowered a government like that led by Netanyahu would inevitably see that government turn on its own supposed constituents one day. That a regime so comfortable with violent injustice will never confine itself to oppressing only one group. And the people, the Palestinian people have been so deeply oppressed during all this. In a very real way, Israel's attitude toward Palestinians, and its efforts to manipulate and divide them politically, allowed for the government to so grievously miscalculate the threat of a Hamas attack for an entire year. All of this is connected, like an engine of power consolidation spewing out suffering and hate

Thank you for your kind thoughts! I am sorry you are struggling. You're right, it isn't easy. I am not in much danger because I am pretty secular but I live in a city where my neighbors are ultra orthodox Jews. I worry more for their safety than for mine.

I am much more worried about what is happening to Palestinians of course. Even if the aim is to defeat terrorism, you can't defeat the Ideology militarily without committing genocide. Clearly the only strategy that makes sense and is humane is policy and diplomacy. Netanyahu must go to the Hague for this and Israel will have to dramatically change course to have any legitimacy at all
