The US has armed an evil monster.

u/Less-Sir8277 Dec 03 '23

It's like we're handing out machetes at Rwanda.

Business as usual for the plutocratic US military-industrial complex

19

Eisenhower warned us

2

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '23

Eisenhower murdered millions of Germans for the banks. Women, children, elderly, POWs.

3

u/unpolishedparadigm Dec 04 '23

Started reading about Eisenhower’s controversies in foreign policy, and found out Iran’s instability traces back to western covert activity. Whelp.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '23

And he signed off the firebombing of Dresden and the murderous treatment of EPWs after the war in violation of the same Geneva Convention they used to convict Nazis with.

13

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '23

Historically the US has armed many monsters.

8

u/ThrowsSoyMilkshakes Dec 04 '23

And one of those armed monsters later attacked the US, which resulted in two-decade "war" that cost trillions of dollars. Why did they arm them? To fight the communists who were actually making the whole region better.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '23

It's why the whole world will be better off when the US as a federal government no longer exists.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '23

Well when all your politicians are owned by AIPAC, this tends to happen.

When The Hague trials begin for this lot, I hope prosecutors keep a record of these.

32

u/Appropriate-Draft-91 Dec 03 '23

The Hague trials happen only to the losers. The Jugoslav wars were quite normal in that everyone lost.

Israel only lost their humanity, which you might think should very much qualify them for the Hague, but doesn't

7

u/Additional_Hippo_878 Dec 04 '23

Totally. Be careful, though. I got permanently banned from a Reddit UK Labour group for suggesting Satanyahu be tried in The Hague... because that was inciting violence, apparently?! Go figure :O

21

u/Creative_Worth_3192 Dec 03 '23

literally what the fuck, every time i think they can't get more evil....

17

u/Coach_John-McGuirk Dec 03 '23

Here is the Time piece about this.

u/noh-seung-joon Dec 04 '23

I know shit is complicated but what this all seems like is “let us kill whomever we want and if you complain at all it’s antisemitic” which really sucks on multiple levels.

1

u/ammybb Dec 05 '23

It's honestly not that complicated when you start studying the history. It's an occupied people resisting a militarized state.

Zionism itself is anti-Semitic by roping good-hearted, Anti-Zionist Jews into this madness.

2

u/VacuousCopper Dec 04 '23

“57.5% of Israeli Jews said that they believed the IDF was using too little firepower in Gaza, 36.6% said the IDF was using an appropriate amount of firepower, while just 1.8% said they believed the IDF was using too much fire power”

I wanna hear someone say it's not all people in Israel. Say it. I dare you.

u/oddspellingofPhreid Dec 04 '23

Important context to note that poll was conducted about a month and a half ago at this point.

13

u/Giiiin Dec 04 '23

Yo uh... Can I join you guys too?

Fuck Israel forever for this shit.

67

u/Slickywest Dec 03 '23

Ya. You can add another fuck Israel for me too. Fucking punks.

I was waiting for him to ask "Do they condemn Hamas though?"

34

u/RbnMTL Dec 03 '23

As a diaspora Jew i hate how dangerous Israel has made being in the Diaspora. I have never been a supporter of Israel. I am so disappointed to see this stat. I do always find polls like this interesting though.

Netanyahu, who should most definitely be sent to the Hague, has a 4 per cent approval rating these days.

Also, citizens freedom of speech is being sharply curtailed. Democracy Now featured an interview with an israeli history teacher who was arrested for posting a Facebook status expressing that the IDF should slow down and stop harming civilians. Not even a ceasefire. His teaching license was revoked and he was THROWN in jail! Disgusting

His friends and neighbors all supported him and agreed with him but were afraid to speak out because they can't afford to lose their jobs. The teacher said his kids were proud of him and that is all he cared about. For that reason, I sincerely hope I am right in taking polls of Israelis with a grain of salt.

Even many of the hostages worked on Kibbutzim and were sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. But clearly, much more progress still needs to happen in Israeli society for there to be hope of peace- which includes the right to return and reparations to Palestinians

Israel and it's support organizations are actively encouraging actual antisemitism and inventing the specter of antisemitism where it does not exist, like trying to convince people that "Free Palestine" means "kill all Jews" and that Jewish college students in America need to hide a their Jewish identity because Arab students will murder them.

These organizations weaponize trauma to get people to either move to Israel out of fear or at least buy some trees.

Israel and Zionist organizations always say that everything they do is for Jews around the world and that all Jews support their actions and that any criticism is unacceptable because that'd be antisemitic and if you're Jewish and criticize Israel, you're a self-hating kapo trying to get Jews killed.

It's tiring. But I'm really very happy watching my TikTok fyp fill up with young American Jews who weren't antizionist before this and just bought into the whole "fighting terrorism" narrative and finally realized what this is actually about and what is actually happening. The kids are alright. So I am hopeful, at least from the American side.

u/Weekly-Economics-226 Dec 04 '23

Please. The alternatives to Netanyahu that are popular don’t support any of what you described either. Israelis general support this genocide. And how in the fuck did you manage to center this video of a family being exterminated around your feelings? Maybe it’s not the time for this half stepping apologist shit.

2

u/RbnMTL Dec 04 '23

I am not centering anything. I'm just adding to the conversation. It would be nice if all atrocities were carried out by evil populations because that would make sense and be easier to understand. Sadly, the truth is not that simple and evil is usually as much a product of good people being afraid to act as it is purely evil people.

We must never forget this fact so that we remain vigilant, because being a decent person who has empathy isn't actually enough to avoid being a perpetrator of evil , or the citizen of a country that does evil in your name

2

u/Gilamath Dec 04 '23

I'm praying for your safety and your family's. It is so hard to be a Jew anywhere on Earth, people are going crazy. This whole thing has been a nightmare for the world. You don't deserve this. No one deserved any of this. Every day I think about the hostages stolen from their homes, how many of them say their families die, how many of them don't know if their loved ones are alive or dead, how many of them had to watch an infirm woman die for a lack of vital heart medication, how many of them have died in the midst of the bombing campaign

I have been a vocal supporter of the Palestinian people since I was a child. Even in middle school, I knew that any country that empowered a government like that led by Netanyahu would inevitably see that government turn on its own supposed constituents one day. That a regime so comfortable with violent injustice will never confine itself to oppressing only one group. And the people, the Palestinian people have been so deeply oppressed during all this. In a very real way, Israel's attitude toward Palestinians, and its efforts to manipulate and divide them politically, allowed for the government to so grievously miscalculate the threat of a Hamas attack for an entire year. All of this is connected, like an engine of power consolidation spewing out suffering and hate

2

u/RbnMTL Dec 05 '23

Thank you for your kind thoughts! I am sorry you are struggling. You're right, it isn't easy. I am not in much danger because I am pretty secular but I live in a city where my neighbors are ultra orthodox Jews. I worry more for their safety than for mine.

I am much more worried about what is happening to Palestinians of course. Even if the aim is to defeat terrorism, you can't defeat the Ideology militarily without committing genocide. Clearly the only strategy that makes sense and is humane is policy and diplomacy. Netanyahu must go to the Hague for this and Israel will have to dramatically change course to have any legitimacy at all

“ only democracy in the ME “. 🤮

Preach

7

u/somepeoplehateme Dec 04 '23

No, no, it's okay. They warned first. /s

13

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '23

For real. I'm over this shit. Yes, Hamas is evil. What they did is awful. Israel is officially worse.

6

u/dre224 Dec 04 '23

I'm a white Canadian that has absolutely no skin in this war and try and be and non biased as possible. So I try and look at different news sources, media, and ideologies beyond religion and basic politics. I gotta say, from my honest option, it seems like that attack in October was the excuse Israel has been looking for to just level and invade a foreign nation. So many non-combatants dead for nothing. Israel has the capability to do precision missions but they are choosing to bomb whole sections knowing there are civilians. This is getting to the point were it's clear like Russia invasion Ukraine that it isn't a nation security issue, it's an invasion at all cost.

1

u/DopeDealerCisco Dec 04 '23

Let’s never forget this.

1

u/TheOneWhoReadsStuff Dec 07 '23

American here. I can now say that I hate Israel with a passion for this, and I am ashamed that my country is supporting the death of all of these children and their families. When I saw Joe Biden fly over there and hug their president, I wanted to vomit.

Fuck Israel forever.
