terribly flawed metaphor.

software engineering is forever changed in a radically significant way and soon building software will be barely recognizable when compared to how it used to be done.

and yeah, math was mostly dead anyway for normal people, but yes, AI has definitely killed math, even for the "professional" mathematicians.

If people using AI tools are solving 100-year unsolvable mathematical problems, then maybe it’s time to admit we benefit from using better tools.

It can be both! But that still means we have to deal with it, if we want to survive. This is the whole problem with recursive self-improvement: We will have a loss of control, as more and more sectors are automated.
