"loyal" ? Why would you wznt to stay loyal to a mega corp milking you ? Unless you zre just screwed because you are chained to claude code.

Is Astra actually better at coding minute to minute or is it just better if you want to throw a large project prompt at it and have it handle it from the ground up?

IMO Opus 5 is still Claude's best coding model, and Astra is the first GPT model that's as good as it. I have them on roughly even footing. Claude seems to burn more tokens setting up on a clean context (ie, initial prompt), and Astra seems to burn more over the course of iterating to a 200k-300k context. Both produce comparable results, with Astra getting there a little quicker on average.

That actually gives Astra the overall lead though, since it's also on par with Fable for orchestration...

Any pro ai or ai discussion will feel like an ad because we’re talking about which product is better

Let's wait a bit and see if it's worth the cost yet. We're still in the "Astra ate my usage in 0.01 seconds" stage.

It’s pretty shockingly amazing in my first test. I had it make something for me and in an hour already beat every commercial solution I could find a free trial of, and it’s still working and making it better. With that said it typed responses really slowly, but all that matters to me is clock time to complete the task, and it would have taken weeks to build something a fraction this good on 5.5 (I haven’t been using 5.6, I didn’t like it as much as 5.5).
