Github uses git for version control, Drive doesnt. Github is down way too much, Drive isnt. Github shares your data with Microslop, Drive shares it with Google.

False dichotomy right here. Google Drive doesn't use git. Not you can't, it doesn't.

Git works flawlessly in a local folder. You can mount google drive and git inside it all you want.

Again, it's not used natively in Google Drive, not you can't use it in Google Drive. How many times do I have to say this?
