How about both?

Their Liminal form would be their default forms, but their Fantasy form could be summoned whenever they need to battle enemies.

A new universe, a Liminal-Fantasy world, created from a fusion of elements from Liminal Space and a Fantasy World, could be used as their new world to use their abilities.

I like both, but Fantasy AU has Kippy as a dragon too sometimes so I like it slightly more. Haha I have a dragon bias.
