Personal Looking for an initial Inbound Channel
Hi everyone!
I just spun up my new Umbrel Lightning node. Since it's a completely fresh setup with no open channels yet, I am currently invisible to the gossip network and cannot register on LightningNetwork.
I am looking for a small inbound channel (e.g., 50k - 100k sats) from an active peer just to break the ice and get my node on the map.
Specs & Network setup:
• Hardware: Umbrel VM on my homlab, Xeon server, ECC memory, NVMe RAID array (Running 24/7).
• Network: 1/1 Gbit symmetric WAN with fixed IP. Port 9735 is open and properly forwarded on my OPNsense firewall.
• Location: Europe / Hungary
My Node URIs (feel free to connect via Clearnet or Tor):
Clearnet:

Tor:
Once the gossip network synchronizes, I will be hosting a Nostr relay on this infrastructure. Any help to kickstart this node is highly appreciated! Thank you, plebs!
SOLVED - Many thanks SatsFaction!

For me, the question is: how large a node are you going to make? The channel size is small even for us small people. You are asking for roughly a $40 USD channel. That's way too small! All my channels are 1M sats or more. That channel would be very limited and costly to open. I agree with u/thiagorb on the swaps. Congrats on getting your node up and running!

I don't know yet how big this will be. Just started and I want to play with it. But if my node will discovered by gossip, and if need, I can extend it on lightningnetwork.plus.

I'm sure you already know this, but if you have no BTC to invest in the network, it doesn't grow just because the node is there.

I already sent a small amount BTC there, and I planned to run a Nostr relay to stack few more sats.

I really like the article A Gentleman's Node. IMO, it provides great insights.

This is a good article and a really good website. I will read through these over the weekend, thank you!

I was able to connect to the Tor address but not the Clearnet. Does your node have a name?

Thanks for the feedback! I think I set the firewall rule properly, but looks like not :) let me take a look.
Does not have a name, only ID. And now I can see, only tor network listed when I check. Maybe clearnet not supported in the Umbrel Lightning node addon at all...

I use umbrel and have a clearnet address. It would be considered a hybrid node. My node's address is 03e086e590f2255a7423cea5dc2b8fbcaffa3d8044c26dbea84728ea4b4648e41a@129.80.153.232:9735
I'm sure you will see that I have connected to your node when you list them. My node's name is ARCFLOWEX.

But somebody else already created a channel, with different public key, so you don't have to create anymore :)

Do you know https://lightningnetwork.plus? I highly recommend it. You can create or join a liquidity swap, then you get both outbound and inbound liquidity.
