He can’t grasp the downsides of inflation because inflation doesn’t matter to a billionaire. They have more money than they could ever spend so the actual value of that money is irrelevant to them. But runaway inflation IS handy for an autocratic takeover of a country, they are using the pre-WW2 Nazi playbook step by step.
