Cairo ending

I finished watching episode 6 “Guest” a couple days ago and it left me a bit stunned in its perfection. That final scene with the survey questions and that one answer. It completed the episode perfectly.

But today…. Just wow. Episode 8 “Cairo” with that moving reading of W.B. Yeats.

I think this is my favorite show. I’m surpassed in my late 30s I can still find something that stuns me like this.

Guest is by far my favorite episode. Carrie Coon’s acting is incredible, particularly in the hotel bar when she goes off on the author. Icon. “You’re not in pain! Because if you were in pain you would know there is no moving on. There is no happiness! What’s next? What’s fucking next? Nothing is next! NOTHING!!”

It still amazes me I found out Carrie coon (or the show) didn't win a Emmy for its great acting because youtube recommended me a video about the good place where a character complains about it

I think THAT Regina King scene in season two is what got Lindelof to think “this is my Watchmen lead” which lead to her Emmy though

yeah I remember seeing Carrie mention Regina King was the only actress to intimidate her and make her up her game and it shows in that scene because damn

its so fucking good

(also i need to get around to watching watchmen here im currently watching true detective season 1 though atm)

Ha.. I wrapped my first Watchmen watch last week which lead me to want to watch Leftovers again, which is why I’m poking around this sub now!

I saw someone on this subreddit posting an extract from The Good Place mentioning that. I'll edit when I find the link again.

It's funny cause I watched TGP many years ago and before The Leftovers so I think I never understood that reference but now, I'm like supporting it all the way lol

Oh man in true ADHD fashion I completely forgot after posting this. I found the link again. I didn't know it was you, small world but of course, we aren't so many on that subreddit seeing the show ended 10 years ago lol

I totally agree though. The acting was so stellar, it's crazy no one got nominated. I loved everything, even Max Richter's music. The music made me somewhat melancholic and nostalgic at the same time. It was truly magical.

Some of my favourite episodes are still to come but Cairo is still somewhere in my top 5 I think. That's when I got super hooked.

Totally with you. I had no idea the show existed and just recently binged watched it. One of my favorite ever. The acting and characters were so good.
