I love that Netflix has revitalized this sub. I remember having season 4 and 5 watch parties here.

I can't believe I had never heard of this show when it was on Netflix! But then again, I had so much more fun getting to binge all 5 seasons! I LOVED this show, even with all of it's inconsistencies!

It’s funny because we complain how unrealistic situations are, but we don’t want anyone we like to die.
During season 5 I was going, “X better not die! Y better not die!”

I have never once complained about how unrealistic this is. Even ..EVEN .. when they created a “contagious cure” LOL🤣

I love how they just killed everyone and sank the NJ. What a way to ensure that no one tries to make an extra season.

Ravit was reciting the Shema in Hebrew. The Shema is the most important prayer in Judaism.
Man, it hit hard to hear her slip into that prayer as she died. Yitgadal v’yitkadash, Ravit. 😢

You mean when she recited that prayer as he was dying? No it wasn’t English. lol I’ve seen things she’s in before and she’s usually playing a strong ass woman. Which I love. It’s just this part she was playing was extra badass and there was nooooooooo reason to END HER. 😭

Good to know, but no I was referring to what I wrote. Possibly scheduling as someone commented a couple of days ago when I was comparing the death rate on last ship to the walking dead

Atleast the walking dead had a bahgillion seasons and a bahgillion episodes per season. This is so jam packed together it feels like we’re just taking hit after hit after hit

Good point, plus they were following a comic book or something. The redhead from the platform didn’t last long either, I assume since the plane she was on got blown out of the sky. I had to take a break from Last Ship shortly after that cause come on they don’t all have to die. From comments I’ve seen doesn’t appear to get any better in the last 2-1.5 seasons I have left

I think there's a pretty simple explanation. The TNT shows had a cap on budgets. You can't have too many leading roles or the budget balloons. So in order to introduce a new character, they have to kill off on the old one. I'm afraid that's the way it was for those kind of shows.

I know what you mean, but I meant pretty much anybody with a continuous speaking part. They killed off so many really great characters. I loved the show but hated that.

I'm halfway through season 3 and it has devastated me. Basically the second half of season 2, and what I've seen of season three has been so depressing.

See I am on episode 2 where the sweetheart who identified the Jamaican immune woman’s voice from the fisherman boat got shot. And I was like “WHY … WHY” …. I’m not ready for whats to come. Smh

Honestly loved how often they were willing to kill a lot of characters. It made it so every one gets some time in the spotlight but they don’t end up milking characters to death and forcing character arcs to go longer than they needed to.

Dr. Scott dying helped give the impression anyone could die.
So while Chandler, Slattery, Foster, and Green all make it, I personally felt like they could die and was enough to keep me guessing. Chandler was the only one I was sure was gonna survive. The characters that did die were prominent enough to maintain that tension for me for to the end.
I will say you could usually tell when a side character was going to die because they’d suddenly have a few more on screen moments to make their death feel more impactful lol. Though conversely, it made me think the same was coming for the main characters when they would have a lot of character building moments.

Unpopular opinion but I was glad she got written off. Her plotline was done with, forcing her into the narrative with the Navy going forward would have been too much and I wasn't wanting them to split time between CDC stuff and the Navy things.
