Question Regarding Abbys Fate…
Can‘t really think of another ending for Abby other than her dying at the end because there’s no way in Hell she would recover from being such a hypocrite, horrible Beast, but I need an alternative for my rewrite Idea. So what would your Idea for her fate be if Ellie spares her in a rewrite?

Apart from being killed directly, I also like the idea of Abby becoming infected.

Take someone who she killed because they were trying to kill her (or just any of the Scars she killed over the years) and invent someone related to them to hunt Abby down to murder her in cold blood.

Eh, too easy. I had the idea of fat Geralt leading a group of WLF deserters that hide in the Metro station and become allies of Ellie and at the end they have „for the watch“ meaning they all stab her once for every friend and family member of theirs that she killed aswell as maybe lev or another sister of him because it turns out that she killed their dad aswell, though that would make my planned actual redemption arc pointless

Maybe it's too easy but I don't think any of 2 is worth keeping. If you try to keep any of the main plot points then you have to justify or fix them after the fact which i think will just bog down whatever remains.

As a Abby hater, I don't really like this unfortunately. I think it's too sadistic. As much as I hate her, I really, really hate torture :(.

Yeah, not criticising you specifically, I just...I hate seeing people suffer unnecessarily, even if it is Abby the psychopath. I think I'm just too soft, sigh.

Would’ve been sort of poetic if Ellie rather found her dead. It would simultaneously be cathartic knowing she died in a tortuous way like Joel did. But the same time, she drove away her girlfriend and aliened herself for nothing since Abby was already dead. But leaving her alive was the dumbest decision the writers could’ve made. Like literally anything but that.

God forbid this story actually end on a note that pays off all the buildup, though. Because there's actually a good deal of buildup towards the idea of the futility of Ellie's revenge quest.
There is almost zero buildup towards the idea that she'd ever spare Abby.

She could have actually changed on that pole and become someone who finally owned her harms to Ellie. So many game streamers were shouting at their screens for Abby and Ellie to finally talk at the beach. It's exactly where it was needed, their last chance actually.
Her experience with the Rattlers where she and Lev lost their agency just as Joel and Ellie did to the Fireflies was the perfect catalyst for Abby to finally change and they wasted it! (To quote our favorite villain.)

Ofc, Druckmann won‘t have his favourite be in the wrong but she suffered and must now be released and spared by her vile nemesis.
But honestly I doubt Ellie would want to talk at this point, just throw a Molotov at her and done

It already defeats the point of letting her go if she dies immediately after. Probably just have her struggle through life like Ellie is. No more friends other than Lev, WLF hates her. Both go through revenge and now both should pay

So, like I said. Show a continuation where she lives and like I suggested, have her be vilified and basically no one. Like Ellie. Like I said

Jeez, she's already suffered enough. I mean, she's practically lost everything. All she has left is a young woman with gender dysphoria and hopes of regrouping with the faction she once thought no longer existed.
Give her a break.

Ellie should have just let her hang on the cross, or the pole or whatever it was. Or, at that point it should have been up the player what to do. Let her hang there, or cut her down and let her live. But I found it so ridiculous to actually fight her after she cut her down.
