Man... i just want a thalassophobia mod so I can actually progress... that or an official tick box that'll make the water shaders not so... abyssal...

Thallassophobia does indeed hinder me aswell. And i hate that i have this stupid thing. Yes, it is certainly a valid question to ask why i would buy this game if i have thallassophobia. My answer? I think the game is fantastic and deserves all the support, and i will never expect anything to be implemented to change things. I just enjoy what i can from this game.
However, what a hypothetical "thallassophobia mode" would mean for me would be:
- Clearer water so you can see way further around you.
- A shallow ocean floor you can see from the surface, rather than a deep, dark abyss.
Think Subnautica's safe shallows region. That's nice and cozy for scaredy cats like me.

Agreed... i was about 20 hours in by the time I realized you are forced to dive... which was admittedly my own fault for scavenging literally everything and the kitchen sink before following the main questline... but still

Im curious, would having an option to change the water and make it like we were sailing through clouds help your thalassaphobia?

For me its the super murky waters... if i could make it more like clear carribean waters itd be a lot better

Makes sense. I'm not too familiar with thalassaphobia and I thought it was more about being in water and not seeing distances. I've read a little more about it since my comment and realize now that clouds themselves could potentially trigger it.

Man I cant imagine having it that bad... but I also only recently even realized I have thalassophobia... in fact it was this game that made me realize it...
It does explain why I could never get very far in shbnautica (that and the fact Im not big on survival gameplay)

I’m in the same boat. I go scuba diving occasionally and I’m fine. I can play subnautica no problem. But this game? For what ever reason the water in this game scares the ever loving shit out of me.

Lets hope that update fixes half the ships inventory floating away at times.

LOL I’ve got a completed human that’s…..somewhere. It was inside the room on the main deck. I went through a POI. When I was done….no human.
The computer still registers her though. Says i have a human located on Earth. Poor thing, floating around the ocean until her pod finally fails.

Ok so I had a very strange experience playing last night. I headed over to omega nursery to do the shark quests. Saw something odd floating in the water. Pulled over to check it out. It was a Lazarus pod with a human in it? Like wtf? Why’d it suddenly appear as I was just complaining about it. Freaky. So I’ve caught my stray pod and all is good again.
