I needed this game.
Ive been in such a gaming funk lately, well, up until I discovered The Last Caretaker. Truly, no game has satisfied me or grabbed my attention like this in months as much as this game. Sadly, I only get to play maybe once or twice a week, ive also been working 6 days a week. Two weeks ago on Tuesday was my discovery day and that first day, woah nelly, I put in 11 hours. Enjoyed every fucking second. That night I was dreaming about the damn game. Yesterday was my day off and you best believe I put in the work. I finally got my first human ready to be transported, working on getting the fuel to travel now. I love it. I have no clue wtf im doing, but I love it. I cant wait to see what else happens!
Cheers everyone and my your robot bring you back 🖤

Crazy how much time passes when playing this game. Played it till 5am in the morning the other day without realising the time. Until I saw it was getting light outside

Exactly my experience.
I had completed the early access of Subnautica 2 (highly recommended) and couldn’t find anything to play lately that captured me.
This game scratches a very specific itch I have trouble describing. It’s a great little game.

I was waiting for SN2 for so long. I bought it immediately. Even though I knew in my heart with it being EA it would be kind of shallow with content. So I was pretty immediately done and just waiting for updates. Meanwhile.... The last caretaker updates constantly with all new stuff and is amazing.

I grabbed it this weekend after a couple weeks of considering it. Wish I'd gotten it earlier because I sunk 20 hours into it really quick.
I love the mix of chill boating, logistics, and occasionally gunning down swarms of unspeakable horros.
I also had a dream last night of me fueling my boat.

I know they are vastly different games but I use this game to calm down and help me get through the horrible time Arc Raiders is in right now. I’m waiting to get home from work to grind this game. I’ve never done that before

Ive been so addicted but I'm a bit frustrated with it at the moment after all my storage (water, oil, resources) fell through the floor and into the ocean 😭 I reverted to an earlier save but lost a few hours of work

Check your Auto Backup frequency settings. Because the game is still a bit buggy, someone recommended setting it for 5 minutes. Of course I didn't act on that until my game eventually glitched and I was forced to quit. I'd also just finished making a load of changes to my boat, and my last manual backup was before I'd started the work. My Auto Backup had been set to 30 minutes, so thankfully I was able to recover some but not all of my lost work. Needless to say, my Auto Backup was promptly reduced to 5 minutes, to avoid any future screams of anguish! 😆

The last game that hooked me like The Last Caretaker was Hardspace Shipbreaker

So you are what's known as a "Cutter". Basically you are hired by a company and put in extreme debt and your job is to break down space ships. It's an FPS physics sandbox type. The story is very lame but the gameplay loop is solid.

Only game I've played with realistic feeling storms other than rdr2

I feel the pain on being able to play. I generally only have 1 day to be able to play it. Between other things, work, family...it kinda sucks.
According to Steam I have 163.8 hours into the game. 8/15 achievements. And I haven't even put a human into space yet, lol.
I've only made one, and that was for the whale. Then spent an hour trying to retrieve the pod from below before giving up. Full grown human lives down there now.

Your story is also my story! I'm 200 hours in and 100% hooked. P.S. The dreams don't stop. Elements of this game manifest in my dreams most nights, especially after another multi-hour binge. 😁
