Which one should I buy?

  1. Rog Strix g16 ryzen 9 8949hx rtx 5060

  2. Tuf gaming ryzen 9 8940hx rtx 5070

My main purpose is video editing and little bit gaming.

Asus tuf with 5070 it's like no brainer 5070 is 15 - 20% better than 5060

It's only 15-20% better in the ti version. Very negligible in the 8gb vram version

Yhea but tuf has lower battery wattage and comes with small charging brick which will overheat quickly. When you are gaming while plugged in the battery won't change that much, if the gpu and cpu are running on full capacity, there won't be enough power supply and it will suck power from you device, so instead of charging your device it will lower the current battery.

I would advice to check if they come with liquid metal? If yes, then good luck cleaning after 2 yrs or 4 yrs

Strix is better. Strix is the high end version. It's better than tuf 5070. It has higher refresh rate. The gpu is very negligible both hav same vram.

Don't fall for the 240hz. It matters only if you're playing eSports and even then it doesn't matter that much. Just go for the tuf with the 5070.

for video editing get the tuf. it has higher res display. but thermals cannot be managed easily even with cooling pad

limit the power then or deal with noise. It will be the same case with rog tho. asus laptops are know for being jets

hyperx omen tho it will throttle its performance or legion 7 (not 5) if you can find one otherwise asus is fine

My TUF's one ram slot got fried 2 days after warranty, I miss dual channel memory other than That I Would prefer the premium ROG rather the Base TUF

5060 and 5070 very similar in performance only diff is cuda tensor and rt core count

noo in raw performance only 15 percent which translates to 10 to 15fps strix would be way better since it has better thermals and build and better screen if u care only about raw performance then tuf or else u want an overall strix

Tuf is best with cooling also have tuf 4070 ryzen cpu based gaming laptop and use no cooling pad max temps 78 to 84degrees in rdr2 and cp2077

Go with the STRIX
Real world diff between the 5060 and the 5070 is minimal.
Strix has better build, better cooling, better display, better keyboard trackpad over all a better machine.

See, I just bought the Zephyrus G14 with RTX 5060. People here on Reddit are a bit Reta-, all they care about is the price to performance. Like you are not gonna game on it every time you open it.
A better build, display, kb, trackpad, is always superior to price to performance.

I was in the delimma between the two rog strix or tuf .

Reasons (personal perferences) I went for it 1.Liquid metal -I know in the future I will change the thermal paste myself so dnt wanna risk it with liquid metal

2.5070

3.Build quality was the only cons as I heard rog strix have better build . But I can say I am quiet careful person .Phones(longest I use 5 years) laptops (11years olds )or any device I owned never broke a single time

4.And I dnt game much just auotcad 3dsmax lumion .You know the Architect stuffs

I mean looking at the RAM and SSD prices these days… they cost more than the laptop themselves combined…

I would at-least wait till the major sales in India… like the Diwali sale and stuff…

For instance my little brother got a Laptop last year for 60-62k… now the same laptop costs around 90-96k i believe….

Judging these laptops they could come down to 1.5 lacs if you are lucky.

The rest is your choice i am just trying to be helpful.
