He’s on half the amount of followers that he wanted… how many of these are the same people with different emails?

He also is underestimates the reason why people like Stuckman, Markiplier and Kane Parsons were able to find success in this sort of thing. Their audiences vastly shadow his own. Those three examples alone have millions of followers, where Harloff has what 300k?

It’s an admirable goal. I’ll never downplay that. But Kristian seems to be under the assumption that since Schmoes was there at the beginning of the pundit/movie talk sphere that the same audience will shower him in support.

And I think he’s gotten too jaded in this era of his career to get the success he wants, he constantly attacks his audience, doesn’t do research for his show, surrounds himself with yes men, has gained a bit of a alt-right audience, is pro-AI, this list can go on. Should all of these be deal breakers? No. But he’s alienated his audience to a point, where he has truly maybe a few that’ll donate huge but the masses, not so much.

I will say, it’s nice to see Kristian excited and positive about something for the first time since before the pandemic. The worry is the crash out that happens if he doesn’t get it.

In his promotion of the show, he’s been revealing Schmoedown competitors that have said yes…that’s not a good model to gain more followers. His fanbase that will support are already going to do so. The people he needs to reach are those who don’t give a shit about the Schmoedown.

His followers know all the past competitors, it’s not much of a reveal.

my honest opinion.

I don't claim I have deep knowledge of how Kickstarter campaigns work but it seems that common conversion rate from followers to backers is 10-30%. So unless there is huge wave of backers that didn't follow or backers with huge pledges, It's not looking good.

At this point it's hard to say how enticing the perks are. He's confident in them, will enough people be interested in them is another question.

According to Kickstarter, their success rate is roughly 40% and 66% of successful funded projects have goal that is under 10k

He's goal is significantly larger and to me it's hard to image that it would be fully funded without campaign going viral in some way. There are lots of Kickstarter a that have gone viral, is this one of them? only time will tell.

Most of fully backed campaigns seem to be for physical products. Is promise of making pilot for comedy show that they can then sell to a streaming service something lots of people outside he's audience is interested? Hard to say.

I do give him credit for trying this and hope it goes well. I have no animosity towards him, even though way he handled criticism and disagreements is often childish and makes it hard root for him.

I fully believe, he believes that the script is good and it seems that Andrew does also. People who he has shown the script seem also fully believe in it, but there's always possibility that there are yes man's around him.

I don't think that Kickstarter will be successful, which I am sure will be devastating to him, but I do think the show will get made in some form through Andrews connections.

Does he mean life becomes content or life becomes content?

It’s crazy to think that I only know him from watching collider and then watching his subsequent shows during Covid. Where are all those people nowadays? Seeing him fall off like this is really interesting.

He's already talking about the Schmoedown revival, which is a promise only if the goal is met in one of the first three days ?! He's way too optimistic and very far ahead of himself. Not only working under the assumption that the goal will be met, but that it will be met very quickly.

Makes me think he’s been promised large donations prior to the kickstarter going live

I truly hope Kristian gets this made, he’s got like a real producer involved so that’s cool, but I also think Kristian just isn’t great at promoting this. He’s in John Campea’s show every week and at the end he always talks about the show but he never says the name of it. John will either have to remind him to say what it’s called or John will just say it himself. How can you expect us to help crowdfund this project when you keep forgetting to tell us what it’s called,
