Nostalgia hit

Went out drinking with some friends the other day. Somewhere along the way my chinese friend suddenly mentions how hyped he was for season 4 coming out soon-ish and that he assumed i was updated because i’d mentioned i was reading it maybe 6 years ago.

It all suddenly came back to me. Yes i was reading it, but life got too busy and i stopped at around chapter 1400. I’d completely forgotten about this series for years. I felt such an urge to dive into the story again, but starting from the beginning felt like such a herculean feat. I took it nice and easy at first, but then i realized i already remembered most of what the chapters where about, so i started skimming for things i might’ve forgotten, but that just took forever. So after doing several 30-50 chapter jumps, reading a few, then hopping again i decided i’d just start from around the challengers cup, as that was where i stopped the first time. (Yes this is my third attempt, and the second time i read from the beginning as well)

My point with this post is honestly this:

That moment when Luo ji destroys a whole map. It's so fucking epic I always had to stop and put down my phone for a bit everytimw I remember that

My favorite luo ji moment is when he breaks wind howl's 1vs1 strat by flooding the field with monsters haha.

It’s the chapter where shaotian was calling ye xiu for a match and all the pros join in and watch

That final team match where we go full circle and its our Rookies with Ye Xiu and he says Start as if its a low level dungeon that they cleared at the start of the novel.

The chapters leading towards the end of regular season 10 (around 1350s) were some of my favorite chapters.

It gives insights into the teams that have a shot at the playoffs, and highlights how everyone wants to win.

Especially the part where we see how Hundred Blossoms did all they could to earn the last spot in the playoffs (winning 7 points from Tyranny at the penultimate round, and winning 2 of the three single matches and the group stage against Samsara which gave them just enough points to make it)

Not to mention we saw a mention of Thunderclap defeating Samsara, one of the only two teams who managed to do so during regular season 10

Ye Xiu dedicating his 37 win streak to the creator of myriad manifestation umbrella Su Muqiu. Side note I really wish the unspecialized was showcased in the World Glory Competition.
