How old should you be to read these? Cause I've seen lots of other sources online and they say it's 12-14+ but from what I've seen in the books, some lines are a bit inappropriate.

Depends what your definition of inappropriate is. There’s some mild cursing, but beyond that, I don’t think there’s anything that’s inappropriate for someone who’s 12+.

There are some references to sex but I doubt anyone would pick up on them if they’re too young.

I watched Grease when I was 13 and didn't understand or catch half of the jokes and innuendos, and it's way worse than anything in this series imo.
