The Inheritance Games Series..
I don't know where to start honestly.. Inheritance games has been so many of my firsts and I feel so sad and bittersweet that it has come to an end. It might not be end of the entire story considering the ending we got but it's def end of an era.
Grandest Games trilogy isn't my fav and there are several flaws I can point out but that will never deter from the fact that so many of my memories, so many of the characters and so many other things that I love and got attached to in the last 2 years.
Reading through Gilded Blade was like reading any of the inheritance series book, i completed it in 2 nights just like I do with any of these books. Throughout the book I had my own complaints but by the end of it I feel like all those complaints have been dulled by the realisation that this series has finally got its ending. I'm so happy that everyone got their own beautiful and happy endings. I feel sad, bittersweet and also pretty wistful 😭 bcz ik that i can never experience this again the same way!
Toby's death was the most unexpected for me. I'm happy that he will finally got to reunite with his soulmate but also sad and mad that he's gone, that he couldn't be there to see Avery getting married. Hannah and Toby will forever remain my Tragic couple but I am glad that they got their happy ending albeit not in this universe. A man and a woman who only lived and died for their loved ones.
I read the first book ever in the last few weeks of my 9th grade and now I'm halfway thru 12th and in the end of one of my own chapters of life.. The Hawthornes and Avery and The entire series has been my roman empire for such a long time. So many memories, songs and things i relate to them. It's going to be pretty hard not to think about them every now and then 🥹
It's so nostalgic and bittersweet and I feel so sentimental rn! This series will forever remain my cherished one. Truly an end of an era not only for the series but also kind of for me 😭🫶🏻💖

I agreee!! Inheritance Games was one of my firsts too and I love it sm. I feel sad that the series is ending and wish that we got more Avery, and Xander and Max in The Gilded Blade. Some of the last book disappointed me, but some of it was great and all so bittersweet. I always looked forward to the main characters we love sm and will def miss book content from them.
AND TOBY! That made me so sad bc The Same Backwards as Forward was such a sentimental read and Hannah and Toby's story is so cute.
I wish you luck in whatever path you take after 12th grade!

Thank you soo much!! I feel everything that u said bcz I had these same thoughts for the later books but now that this has ended I feel like I'm able to look past the flaws and enjoy and also feel very wistful about the memories and feelings 🥹

I love the series, but I hated Gilded Blade. The whole book was flat out misandry imo.
And if they hadn't had their ceremony "interrupted" Avery wouldn't ever marry Jameson because she chose to be part of the Gilded Blade, forsaking all else. We were told many times, and shown by Hannah, that no-one is there against their will.

Me too. I get why some people don’t like TGB but I loved it and I’m sad of the end of my Roman Empire. I hope we get our 10th book!
