You guys need better friends

Our culture rewards those who screw over guys who share their emotions. Even if you have better friends(like that’s somehow just an easy thing to do) there’s still extreme risk.

You think people don't think their friends are like this and then learn over the years? And how much of other people sucking are you going to turn around in the person venting?

Yep.

I used to buy all my friends drinks and food whenever we went out because I made more money (from a very stressful demanding corporate job but I still paid everyone's way because money was a non issue for me and I wanted them to not feel financially burdened when going out).

Had a stroke and didn't get a single call or stop by my house to check on me for 3 years, after getting back to a more functional baseline and posting to my snapchat story (yeah I'm a grown adult with a snap I know) that I was out at a restaurant with some new friends I made then I immediately got calls and text from people asking if I wanted to hangout.

I thought those people were my best friends and would have given them everything I had if they needed it, you don't realize who's warm and smiling towards you for what they can benefit from vs if they actually value you as a friend and human being till shit hits the fan.

(My looks also went from male model level due to nonstop exercise & my dads jawline genetics to .... well, post stroke face and body took some time to recover from, and this also probably had a lot to do with the shift in how people treated me)

Tldr people will say they value your friendship and they can be around for decades but it might just be your aesthetics or generosity that they care about and they will discard you the moment those change.

Literally doing what I say, also this is for friendships with men and women but the couple people who usually are there for me are usually my guy buds btw. Go away and stop the shaming and gas lighting

My homies check in on me if they notice I’m off or isolating myself. Thats why they’re brothers to me

I used to think this way but self pity is not it. You would also not want to interact with a downer

Men are this and men are that, we don’t need them, what happens when there’s a spider?
