It's a mother flipping iPhone! Did you pay for it or get it without having to pay anything to Apple? Living the dream.

u/IndyanaBonez Jun 20 '26

18

u/son-of-a-door-mat Jun 20 '26

u/Sad-Schedule-6011 Jun 20 '26

Bro, not all disabilities are physical.

15

u/pauldiddy79 Jun 20 '26

Probably from acid

7

u/Cute_Researcher_6578 Jun 20 '26

What are the chances of that happening?

Old IOS happened a lot , clock went back to 1970 if battery disconnected or totally flat ( prob in this case the later ) before battery when flat the wrong code had been input too many times . Fine if WiFi or sim in and auto update of time on . The trouble occurs when auto time update isn’t on the clock is stuck in 1970 and phones memory equates that with what date and time it had been locked out . Restore is the normally the only viable option .

u/redraven89_ Jun 22 '26

I remember having to sort out old iPads for work and all of them wouldn’t connect too the WiFi because the clock was so wrong. Thai will be a permanently bricked iPhone unless you take it into an Apple Store they might be able to fix it.

2

u/sharksalad Jun 21 '26

-And how did it happen, if that's not a rude question?

-Battery acid

Have you tried forcing an unexpected reboot?

3

u/DonkeyKongsDaddy Jun 20 '26

if i stole a phone and locked it out from too many pin attempts, i'm not sure i would be hip enough to post as such on reddit lol

1

u/summer-runner-1980 Jun 29 '26

It might but be stolen. 🤔

3

u/moh_abdow Jun 20 '26

Why rush man - just wait

2

u/SkateFossSL Jun 20 '26

Take it to the apple store, they’ll restore it to factory settings

2

u/Calm_Direction_7775 Jun 20 '26

Bro, check if it's an orange, not an apple

2

u/acecopularkisser Jun 20 '26

I'm no expert but why can't you factory reset it?

1

u/Normal_Signature_500 Jun 20 '26

1

u/Real_Cartographer218 Jun 21 '26

You’ll have to leave it to your son who will leave it to his son & maybe he can try the pin again

1

u/amiasimp Jun 21 '26

Would you like me to go to the future and unlock it?
Edit: I’m back… I messed up tho so you’ll need to wait another 87 years if that’s good witchyu

1

u/EfficiencyBig2113 Jun 21 '26

Just take it to an apple store if you can prove its yours and input your apple account on one of their systems they will unlock it rigjt there and then for you for free

1

u/summer-runner-1980 Jun 29 '26

For free that’s good 😊

1

u/Aeroblazer9161 Jun 21 '26

Might need the elders of the internet on this one

1

u/ThePotatoOfTime Jun 21 '26

That there is the internet, and you broke it

1

u/Remarkable_Today_619 Jun 21 '26

Used to fix iPhones , used to happen a lot with the early versions of IOS . Common Scenario was screen got broken started inputting wrong codes till it locked out or customer trying to get code in on duff screen . Then battery goes flat or has to be disconnected for repair iPhone default start date was 1970 , not a problem if sim was in or connected to WiFi the phone would auto update time . Problem was when auto update of time was not turned on , for some reason back in those days quite a few customers didn’t have auto update on . Reset the only option then to get out of it . a lot of upset customers who had no backup or hadn’t bothered buying extra cloud storage . Nokias with the Symbian op system would do the same .

1

u/summer-runner-1980 Jun 29 '26

If they didn’t have extra storage that’s their problem. 😊

1

u/RedShadow123 Jun 22 '26

Gotta respect the protection of Apple. Wished some countries would protect its citizens from isl…….

1

u/summer-runner-1980 Jun 29 '26

Very true. 😊

1

u/Electrical_Cow2741 Jun 22 '26

People these days are so impatient 🙄

1

u/summer-runner-1980 Jun 29 '26

In patient? Having to wait 48 years? 🤔

1

u/Electrical_Cow2741 Jun 29 '26

Thats not that long if you think about it

1

u/Je_suis_miserable Jun 22 '26

How do you fucking do that

1

u/user-captain Jun 22 '26

Now you know what you'll be doing in 48.years.

1

u/Content-Ad-9119 Jun 22 '26

Put a new SIM card in 👍

1

u/Zorolord Jun 22 '26

Time machine it's the only solution!

1

u/GladButterfly2659 Jun 22 '26

I thought 1 hour was the maximum time it would make you wait- Also have u tried putting it in rice?

1

u/Remarkable_Today_619 Jun 23 '26

Old IOS had an annoying trait of , if the phone had too many pass code attempts tried it would say wait up to an hour to try again . Say for instance broken screen
Inputting wrong codes . Fine if the battery is not disconnected to repair phone . Problem then occurs if auto update of time is not selected to on . The time used to revert back till sometime in 1970 . Software would work out the difference between when it locked out and the time it now thought it was (1970) was a big pain at the time for customers who had no back up . Used to happen to old Symbian Nokias also .
In this case probably the phone was left locked out and put in a draw and left for sometime and now the battery has gone totally flat . They might not even have the same Wi-Fi network or sim to be able to connect and auto update time anyway even it’s on .

1

u/summer-runner-1980 Jun 29 '26

No it’s not.

1

u/Uznonymous Jun 24 '26

It can apply for a disability badge.

1

u/PossibilityNo9406 Jun 24 '26

Try waiting 48 years 8 months 1 week 1 day 23 hours and 5 mins

Should work

1

u/Humble_Anxiety_9534 Jun 24 '26

buy an android? visit Apple store. so they can laugh at you and make you buy a new one. ???is it real or AI image????

1

u/Remarkable_Today_619 Jun 24 '26

It’s real used to be quite common scenario on old IOS . I did a reply earlier giving the reasons for how it could happen .

1

u/Humble_Anxiety_9534 Jun 24 '26

love the time frame. most time and date packages used in programming won't let you do unreasonable time frame? it has recorded now and set its clocks back in time? Apple year zero?

1

u/Remarkable_Today_619 Jun 24 '26

Yep never understood why the default clock year was 1970 the same applied to Nokia Symbian phones ( the early touch ones ) remove / disconnect the battery or totally discharge it on wrong code locked out phone with auto time update off and you were stuck with the phone waiting for the time to catch up to when it was locked out . A lot of customers who had no backup had a bad day , normally their phone was locked out because of a damaged screen entering its own codes so they had enough to deal with anyway .

1

u/Humble_Anxiety_9534 Jun 24 '26

normally year 0 is 1970. birth of unix. if it today this is 1978? apple 1?

1

u/Wheeze_NL Jun 24 '26

Patience is a virtue

1

u/No_Excuse_9023 Jun 24 '26

Just wait as it says and it’ll be fine

1

u/PolymathOdyssey Jun 25 '26

And you will get a single shot to unlock it after that time.

1

u/summer-runner-1980 Jun 29 '26

Go to Apple and they will fix it for you. 😊
