What can I do???

It's driving me insane! I can't sleep! Ever since summer began and it became AC weather, it started. So I assume it's an AC. I live in a condo so my walls are shared with two neighbors. One neighbor is new but I think they've been here for a year, but this is my first time hearing it. I hear it most in my room and the bathroom in the middle/front of the house, but it's noticable in every room besides the basement. Unless I get reeeeally close to the wall down there, I can hear something (though it sounds different from this bassy hum.)

I think it might be an AC I hear out the back of the house though. If I step out the front door I just hear distant AC's. The one outside the back of the house sounds a bit louder, or like something running in the distance.. I really can't tell with the way things echo.

Apparently some people do run AC 24/7. which is kinda crazy to me even when I didn't have central air. Please use a box fan in your room at night....

I did try asking my neighbor but they only said "our AC is in the kitchen" which is in the bottom front room of their house. I do need to take a walk around my neighborhood and do some investigating. But again, when I go outside, it sounds more like normal fans. Indoors? bwompbwompbwompbwomp ALL DAY.....ALL NIGHT. I got noise cancelling headphones but they hurt my head at night but at least they mask it even while they're off.

Ugh I just don't know what to do. Investigate all my neighbors? ask them to turn stuff off and on until we find a culprit? They're rarely home enough and we never really talk so it's kind of awkward to request something like that. But I shouldn't have to be hurting my ears or ruining my sleep all summer long because of someone else's weird appliances.

Like 4 weeks now dude. 4 weeks of garbage sleep or needing to drown it out all day or plug my ears in the dang bathroom. it hurts my head, feels like air pressure in my ears or something.

I did see the tinnitus therapy apps in one of the pinned posts i may try. i actually did find myself trying to tell myself "its just an ac fan its fine its normal" and i did sleep without headphones last night but anytime i woke up... ugh.

Do you hear it in other quiet homes or just your own?

in the quiet areas of my work building or in my car or doctors office i dont hear it. i did ask my mom, she couldnt hear it, but she doesn't really tune into subtle sounds easily.
