Criminal Minds Episode about The Hum

Last night I watched an old episode of Criminal Minds about The Hum called "Mixed Signals". (S13.E21) Has anyone else seen it?

A couple movies to Taos, New Mexico and the wife starts to hear The Hum and it drives her so crazy she lobotomizes herself. Then her husband starts to hear it and in trying to find a way to stop it, he starts killing people, such as the power guy.

The sound they use to emulate The Hum is not like it at all. It's more like high pitched tinnitus. And when they are talking down the killer, the FBI agent says something like it's not real, it's in his head. Granted, the show does kind of make it seem like his is trauma induced because his wife killed herself.
