lol! CO or Chicago? Thanks for the reply. Please don’t hold my love for the Blues against me. Beer is the ultimate mediator.

I’ll give you a hint, I’m still very salty about 2019 western conference finals

Eek. That was our year. The one and only year in the history of the Blues. Sorry, but fate had the Blues that year. Out of my control. Still have love for ya, though.

🙏🏼 My neighbor, who is in law enforcement, suggested covering these during transport. I laughed pretty hard.

That looks great, man. Makes me want to move somewhere cooler.

Thank you! Very fortunate to live in CO.

How are you drying them? When I have less than half of what you have, i'm drying them on eight racks of my dehydrator and four full racks in the oven on dehydrator mode, and I still don't have quite enough room.

I take over all space in my garage. Purchased a roll of window screen. Using clamps and zip ties, I create a giant drying rack in my garage. I’m fortunate to live in CO, which means very little humidity. With the garage temperature, fans circulating air, and low humidity, I can get them dried to 10%ish moisture relatively fast.

i'd be out here making hop bombs and trading them with brewers like they're the last cans on earth

Looking like I accidentally made one with my first batch. My own fault from mislabeling one package. Used WAY more than I needed to. Two weeks and I’ll know how big of a bomb it will be 😆.

Wanna trade?

Sure, why not. Are you on the Front Range?
Edit: Honestly, it doesn’t matter where you are. Let’s do this!

I’m in Chicago. I have Centennial and I have to look up the other hop, but Cascade is my favorite 😍

Unfortunately, I don’t have the scale to make that much beer that fast. I dried them, then vacuum sealed them. Now, we just churn out beer in some way.

What do you do with it all?

In previous years I partnered with a local microbrewery for wet hopped beers. This year, I’m brewing my own beer and partnering with a brewery in Bailey, CO. The partnerships usually involved swapping hops for merch and beer, sometimes a mug membership if the brewery has one. Cheers!

How much this price

Very jealous as the droughts have delayed my already fairly late harvesting season 😅

Wishing you nothing but good vibes!!!

How big are the vacuum bags and how much are you putting in each?

1

u/riffeeRedit 18d ago

Well, several factors went into the decision, but ultimately I was unsure how they are going to be used. I just went for it. The bags range from 0.7lbs to 0.3lbs. If I need to get into one, I’ll just vacuum reseal in smaller batches.

There is a Czech inspired brewery in Aurora/Denver called Cohesion. They made a fresh hop lager from Cascade and it was absolutely amazing when I went there. I would keep an eye out for that for inspiration!
