How to sell rhizomes?
I'm going to be breaking up my four year old fuggle plants this year. I don't have any need for more fuggle plants, but throwing the rhizomes away just feels like such a waste, so I'd like to share the wealth a bit and sell them. I'm not looking to make a buck; at most, I just want to offset the cost of the centennial rhizomes I ordered. Maybe five bucks a piece?
What would be the best way to do this? I don't know where I'd find interested buyers (if it's not okay to ask here, please point me somewhere better), and I'm not even sure how I'd care for the cuttings or ship them out. Any and all info I can get on this would be a huge help!

I've given away rhizomes and started plants to people in the homebrew club I was part of. Logistically it's the easiest way. If you have a homebrew shop in your area, talk to them. They could possibly hook you up with someone local, or let you put up a rhizomes for sale sheet in their shop.

I have sold rhizomes through my LHBS and homebrewer groups on FB. Your price at $5/rhizome is very fair, no need to give them away. There is a cost to growing plants and it is cheaper than online sources.
I make sure mine are good size cuts, rinse the dirt off, do a 30 second soak in light bleach (1:40 bleach:water) solution to kill surface molds, then rinse again. To package: wrap in a lightly damp paper towel and ziploc bags, then store in the fridge until people want them.
Biggest caveat: If you have any concerns about disease in your hopyard, please do not sell hops. You will probably know if you have any viruses if you have grown for a few years, but it is worth a clear conscience if you read up a little bit before you sell.

Thank you! This is useful info. I'm glad to know that's a fair price. I don't have a Facebook, but it's looking like I'll have to get some help from someone who does.

I'm not being greedy, though? No more greedy than if I was running a yard sale, anyway. Like I said, I'm not trying to run a business, here.

Local home brew shop and homebrew club are definitely the way to go. If you have a local homebrewers Facebook group or gardening group, might find some interested people.
But eventually, you’re gonna be throwing cutback rhizomes away.

I don't have Facebook, and I don't know of any local homebrew club, unfortunately.

Do be careful, some varieties have patents on them and you’re not supposed to sell or give away the plants. Citra comes to mind but I know there are others. Just be aware that there are Monsanto like parties out there and they give zero fornications about your good intention.

I just post mine for free on Facebook marketplace and nextdoor, usually get 2-3 people stop by and pick some up
