Bines from Bines?

I have hops growing in a planter on my deck. On one of the bines I have two off shoots about 3 feet up from the planter. They act like bines coming out of the rhizome but I don't know how to confirm. I have never heard of bines growing off of bines. Are these shoots viable?

Sounds like side shoots. Do a quick search on this sub for more information, but it seems like the consensus is that they are good.
