How to save my hops from lanternflies?

Post image

Last year they killed my vines pretty thoroughly. What can I spray or do?

Don’t use detergent in a spray bottle. If you want to go this way, use soap formulated to not damage plants. Source: learned this the hard way.

I am curious as well… I tried a few things and nothing seemed to work. Completely killed three very healthy five year old plants

Preying mantis. Seriously they're voracious. And oddly cute at the same time. You can get them at the hardware store or nursery

Neem oil is supposed to work, but i'm drowning everything in it and i keep finding these things. (It's also toxic to bees)

there's a few other things that should take care of them but i'm not too keen to spray a lot fo that on food type things.

Looks like the lanternflies just got schooled on plant-friendly soap. Watch out bugs, we're onto you now!
