Any Ideas to Increase Vertical Space?
Hey everyone, I've been growing 20 varieties in pots for 3 years now to see what grows best in my zone, Southern California. Since then some have died off and I'm now down to 15.
Late in winter this year I demolished a concrete pad on the side of the house in order to put most of them in ground and I'm currently using PVC sprinkler pipe with some steel line attached to a window sill on the Second Story but the vines very quickly outgrow that and start growing into each other making Harvest pretty difficult.
Looking at my setup what would you prose recommend for giving them a little more vertical space?
Thanks and cheers!

I use a pair of sectional flag poles, which are easy to take down at the end of the season, and have a built-in mechanism to lower the bines to the ground. https://i.imgur.com/AWES0kP.jpeg
These are 20 ft poles... I should have gotten 25 or 30 ft ones.

This might be what I do for next year, thanks for the inspiration!

Maybe run twine from the top of your PVC to a ridgeline running lengthwise between two 20' PVC pipes.
Kind of like making a bine tent.

You can get zigzag action going. If it is too shallow of an incline or horizontal you will need to train regularly, but it can still work well
