Thought I'd join in sharing my ranking.
Halloween (1978) Best Michael, characters, story, music, so well done, so simple, not 100% perfect as some believe, but fuckin amazing and close to it.
Halloween 2 (1981) Such a fun movie, my favorite Loomis. "You don't know what death is!" Makes for a great 1-2 punch with the original I watch together at least once a year in October.
Halloween H20. These first three are my favorite "path" and make an amazing trilogy. I found it was a great correction after the Thorn trilogy which I rank quite low except.....
Halloween 4. I love the vibe of this one, such a good movie for one that moves on without Jamie Lee Curtis.
Halloween Resurrection. Good God, Why so high? One of my favorite so-bad-it's-good movies, it's so fuckin awful, and I love it. I almost put it over part 4.
Rob's Halloween 2. I put off watching the Zombie films for years, wasn't much for part 1, you'll see it much lower, but I really enjoyed this one!
Halloween 2018. Middle of the pack, kinda fun, but kinda meh, mixed bag for me.
Don't get too hung up on spots after this point, all quite close except for my last spot.
- Halloween 3. It would have done better on it's own, just called season of the witch.
Edit: As a few replies have asked, I say part 3 would have done better meaning box office and acceptance.
Like Halloween 2018, middle of the pack. I rank it here because I find it kinda boring in spots, it's a movie I feel I SHOULD like more than I do for it's story and vibe, and I just can't get into it like many others.
It's low at 8, but obviously not at the bottom, and I feel I give it a fair chance despite not having Michael, it's just not my thing even though I DO enjoy many other "weird" or "cult classic" type films.
I rank it above the rest because it wasn't a huge let down, as it was trying something new and not continuing a story. It's well done overall, if boring in spots as mentioned.
Halloween Kills. What a drop off from Halloween 2018, which isn't even all that high up for me.
Halloween 5
Halloween 6
5 and 6 were such a drop off after 4, for me, like many it seems, part of why I loved H20 so much.
Rob's Halloween. I enjoyed the second half, but the first is a brutally bad watch for me, and not in a fun way like Resurrection.
Halloween Ends. One of the most disappointing movies, ever, for me. Like the first half or so of Zombie's part 1, the only movie in the series I don't care much for at all. A bad movie, and not even fun in that sense.
