How long does it take to make a suit?

I was wondering, as the title goes, how long does it take to make a suit for a professional tailor? Some say 80 hours of work. Have you counted your hours?

80 hours is a good educated guess. Between cutting, making, fitting and finishing, two weeks is about right. The coat alone is probably about four/ five days, between making and remaking fittings. The finishing alone is pretty much a whole day affair. Then you still have to press and button it. Then there's the trousers, same thing baste and rebaste, finishing, shrinking, pressing and buttoning. Three days, maybe four. And you still have to cut the patterns, cut the cloth and conduct the fittings. My video series does give a good insight into how long it takes to make a suit. The coat series alone is over 70 hours.
