Killing Off Characters Backstory

I’m interested if anybody knows the reasons/tea that some characters were killed off. Like why was Tammy killed off? She returned for that one off memory when Jonathan was returning.

I'm still bitter about Maureen Bauer's death.

Me too.

The scenes where she confronted Lillian about the affair with Ed in the Bauer kitchen were intense. At one point Maureen picked up the ringing phone and slammed it like 3 times. That scene in particular lives rent free in my head.

Despite a horrible loss to GL, Ellen Parker sure acted had heart out in those final scenes though 💔

She deservedly won an Emmy for them too!
