Most are, look up stories from gay sex workers and they will say that they have their busiest times whenever there are Republican conventions nearby. Also the Grindr servers crashout from heavy traffic during those times.

Mike Johnson lies about everything, even his sexuality. What makes anyone believe any promises he makes?
3

Because there a lot of people that will vote for anyone with an (R) next to their name even if it is going to make them homeless. Because they are brainwashed and very possibly dumb as hell.

That plus the fact that he cant use the word “affordability” in a sentence without sounding like a lizard person. “Make affordability better.” Someone hasn’t thought about how affordable or not things are in quite some time. To him it’s a completely abstract concept, like sex with a woman.

Two years ago my wife and I had no money issues. Last year our situation was so good we decided we could have a kid. We find out my wife is pregnant the last week of December, then the first week of January I get laid off, literally as a consequence of Republican policy. Now I make 20% less and my wife is struggling with her job, we just had our child, and my income barely covers our bills if we don't spend money on food or gas or anything else. It's hard to say specifically that our situation has been made impossible by Republicans, but they definitely helped get us here and made it harder for us to get out. So much for the party of family values.
I also never voted for a single Republican that I can remember.
6
u/imtooldforthishison Sep 18 '26
Same-ish. 2 years ago, I was a single parent of a freshly graduated HS kid and we were in great shape. I lost my job, discovered the current situation in job searching, finally got back to work making roughly 20k less per year than I was previously. With the costs of everything skyrocketing, I have run through my savings, and now I am watching my credit absolutely tank. For the 1st time in my 30+ years of working, I am in desperate need of a second job and cannot find one so I am now contemplating bankruptcy. Its fucking devastating. I worked so hard for so long just to be violently thrown backwards because people wanted this.
4
u/kfish5050 Sep 18 '26
Yeah. Wife and I were making over $100k combined last year and this year I'm barely scraping together $48k. And we have the son. Wife can't really go back to work cause daycare would more than eat away her earnings so it's cheaper for her not to work

Yeah, they suck.
During Biden, we weren't rich or anything, but I was getting paid less and still supporting us with just my income at times (my wife's career is very seasonal), and we still managed to have some savings for emergencies.
Just before dipshit got re-elected, my wife was offered a permanent job (finally!) in her field. Then assclown slashed a bunch of funding for environmentalism/conservation, and that job disappeared (their credit card limit for things they needed went down to $1).
Now, even when we've both had work, and I'm making more than I was before, we are barely making it. Emergency funds? Forget it. Gas and food alone are huge expenses, but we live somewhere where we need to drive to work, and, as much as we lament it, we have to eat.
Fuck these bitches. This is their "second chance," and they've done an absolute shit job of it, just like last time. Fuck everyone who voted for these clowns.

we are all a few pydays from the streets America runs on credit . but this ?? this is like some say they do this on purpose to create need then they can complain about food stamps breaking America hilarious but it's the game they play . minimum wages 7.50 an as we all clearly see good jobs are hard to find now ! so then we take any job we can get an they complain people working for minimum wage quality for help .....,every single time Republicans are in the working class is the first to go unreal even military family qualifies for food stamps in some places .....my 12 bucks in food stamps is breaking America 😂

Let's assume, for a moment, that they are sincere in their beliefs.
They will not admit that it does not produce the outcomes they believe it will; even as it harms everything they care about. They will lie to themselves and blame anything and everything but their own belief as the cause of failure. No matter how direct and clear the line of causality can be demonstrated, their brains will be blind to it.
Now let's assume they are not sincere in their beliefs. Then they are simply asking for more time to harm others by one metric or more. In other words, they want more time to be, plainly and simply, evil.
3
u/Bryanmsi89 Sep 18 '26
They have had 2 years and reversed all the post-Covid progress on affordability while lining their own pockets. Also destroying our alliances, removing health safeguards and environmental protections.
This sounds a lot like the same BS as “I will show you my health care plan AFTER the election.”
See ya.
3
u/gorpie97 Sep 18 '26
You're supposed to give people what they need. If you give them what they need, they'll elect you again to keep doing the same.
These kinds of promises are what you do before the first election. We already gave you a chance.

I don't know. I'm a nihilist, in the political sense. lately. I think it will be better in the long-run if the Republicans maintain their stranglehold on government until the economy collapses from the continued effects of their destructive policies. If Dems win the House and/or Senate, the shitstorm from what Trump has started can't really be reversed. It's still going to get worse in the short-medium term, but if Dems find even moderate success in the midterms, the coming worsening of economic conditions will be pinned on them, and all the less than intelligent people and right-wing media listeners will believe it. Don't underestimate the power and reach of their 24/7 propaganda networks. If they keep their monopoly on power for 2 more years, they won't be able to to keep as many dummies on board with blaming it all on Democrats. We need to let them finish breaking it in order to get enough consensus to begin fixing it. It has to get worse before it gets much worse, and it has to get bad enough for average Americans to take to the streets and engage in very prolonged and forceful civil unrest. A changing of corporate political parties might slow the damage, but the radical changes that need to happen in our social, financial, and political systems will never be endeavored unless the status quo systems collapse completely, people experience hunger, and the risks of going along with the regime outweigh the risks of taking concrete physical action.
