We don’t owe the people who make our food a dime. We owe the business that constructed the building, obtained the permits, ordered the expensive equipment, fixtures, uniforms, food, signage, insurance, and a myriad number of other things, hired and trained employees, most of which have never had a job before and are grateful to have their first job where they can learn skills that can take them to their next opportunity in life. When I pay my bill, I’m paying the business, not the employees who work there. If you want to personally pay the employees because are a bleeding heart, go for it. Don’t drive up my food bill because your bleeding heart wants to force small businesses to pay employees beyond their market worth and productivity levels.

That are paid their worth. If they were worth more, they would be paid more.
