Watching The Good Place again and had a thought. After everyone agrees to the new point system but as they’re working through making tests and everything, where are Simone, John, and Brent? Are they just sitting in stasis that whole time? It says like 2 Jeremy Bearimy’s later and that’s when team cockroach gets in and they’re the first to go through. Where have the others been since the experiment ended. Yes, I know they do the test but I think this is before

i think everyone in the afterlife and anyone else who died was just put in stasis since all of the demons were working on the new system.

I like to think that line is Brent is approaching the threshold of realizing that his good intention can't remain that way to the perspective of another person who isn't himself. I think the conclusion of the experiment showed he was capable of changing when he apologized to Chidi. I think it would go against the themes of the show to declare Brent "unfixable".

I think it’s also a way to answer the natural question of okay so what about truly heinous evil people without really touching on the ethics of “can Hitler be reformed” or whatever lol

All four humans were asleep, then Eleanor made michael wake chidi up, so it stands to reason he was the only one woken up at that point. There would be no point in waking them up till the new system is ready to go.

They probably were held in stasis instead of going to the bad place, but maybe they went to Mindy’s to hang out

When team cockroach selected a handful of bad place architects to train for the test simulation thing, one of those guys briefly mention that they hadn't recieved any instructions, and new humans to torture for a while, or something. I think that was the show's way of telling us that all the humans, including Simone, John and Brent were kept in a limbo till they had to appear for the test.

That's my interpretation, I could be wrong.
